Ow wow! Harrowing chapter! I was on the edge of seat!
Author's Response: Thank you very much. I am never sure how 'well' my suspense bits come off, so I appreciate your comments! |

Marvelous!
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. My apologies for such a long delay in answering reviews and updates. Between holidays and health/real-life issues for myself and my betas, we've had a hard time meshing with our availability. My nine-year-old daughter had a ruptured appendix at the beginning of February and was very sick, only now getting back to 'normal'. Thank-you for your kind review and for your patience as I resume my update frequency. |

I cry every time I read this chapter. And the first time I read it I thought, "Wow, this story will end in a few more chapters." Ahh, how wonderfully mistaken I was!
Author's Response: *passes you a tissue* Thank you very much. It means a great deal to me to hear that my readers are so moved by the story. |

Incredible. I've just read your story and I am beyond impressed. Particularly with this last chapter - it's been a long time since I've read anything so intense. I'll be watching this avidly for updates. Speaking of which, how does that work on here? Can I sign up to receive updates via e-mail? My address is sa_oconner@yahoo.com.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far. I don't think they have a notification process here on the board for new chapters, but I have an email list at home that I keep for just such a request. I'll be glad to email you when the next chapter is uploaded. For some reason the verification process seems to be suffering a slight lag right now--we all have busy real-lives, so I'm sure the admins are having their fair share of that. When my current chapter in the queue gets approved, I'll submit the next. I'm several chapters 'ahead' of their verification process now, so things should move right along. |

I read this chapter again last week on FFN and read it here tonight. I see what you mean, it is more refined and flows more smoothly. But best of all they had you change 'he kneeled' to the grammatically correct 'he knelt'. They have missed it before and of course it's rampant on FFN. It's one of those little grammatical things that annoy the hell out of me, it's not quite as annoying as authors using 'seeing as' in place of 'since'. Seeing as may be an 'in vogue' expression now but it's not grammatically correct and shouldn't be used when writing a story. Sorry to get on my high horse, you aren't guilty of it, but maybe some readers will see themselves and make the correction.
I always loved Moody's behavior in this chapter, it shows he has a soft side too. Everyone cooperated and though the house was lost, no lives were lost. And Severus realized that he was capable of unconditional love. Now I know the best parts of the story will be coming soon and I will be reading them to see how they've been refined.
Author's Response: Thank you! It's always lovely to see you. I'm glad you agree the changes are an improvement. I'm very, very happy with how its coming along. |

Well done! Very action filled chapter. It was nice to see Moody act decent towards Severus for a change. Loved it!
Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I admit, I'm a bit of a romantic at heart. (Duh, there's a big surprise! *smirk*) I like to create situations where usual 'enemies' find common ground... even if it's very shaky common-ground. ;) |

OH MY GOD do you want to give me heart attack woman!?!?!?!? ok ok breathe, breathe...now that that's over i can give you a reply to what I read. Brilliant, you had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it (maybe I should print out the page and frame it...no?) that had the perfect mix of the good the bad and the damn ugly. Severus' love for Katrina, even though he doesn't admit that that is it, was showen beautifully in this chapter. Also the realisation that Love isn't weak is a bonus. Now that Rowena has cryed her heart out I wonder if she is going to have a real one on one talk with Severus? Oh Oh I know what could possibly happen, either Severus will get to adopt Katrina or even better Rowena will and then they all will live happily ever after. Yeah like life for any of them is really that simple. Anyway I like how you started this piece with the sarcastic wit and withdrawn personallity that is Severus meeting up with Rowena in the corridor. The way you flowed from scene to scene was good as well, it flowed nicely and didn't have any real jumps. Now then lets wait and see whats happening next and see how Harry gets in trouble, if he does at all. And of course lets see how Rowena will nurse Severus back to health, cause we all know she wants to. Keep it coming.
Author's Response: Wow. Thank you! *beams* I love it when I feel like a chapter is just exactly *right*--and even more when my readers let me know they found it powerful as well. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and specific comments. I feel like I'm almost 'reading over your shoulder' as you react to the story. Your speculations as to what will come next are also enjoyable to read, though I won't give anything away by telling you how close or far you are from the mark. Thank you very much for your comment. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. |
