Oh my. I had a notion last chapter that the lethifold wouldn't necessarily want the victim they intended for it... Although I doubt that Aurelia will be eaten so I'm not too worried. Poor Severus, with his history giving him very reason to mistrust people in general and in forced company of one of his childhood-tormentors with a marked trait of looking away if thing go ugly I wouldn't want to sleep helplessly too... And Aurelia sharing all his circumstances with Lupin. No wonder he's on edge. Lupin with ethical worries for a confirmed death eater's Obliviate was hysterical: that from the man who as a teacher in charge and responsible for children seriously (pardon the pun) believed Black to be a crazed massmurderer and despite that still covered his own ass even after said murderer broke into a student-dorm (where incidently his best friends son slept who he spend all year to befriend) as not to "disappoint Dumbledore". I won't even go into forgetting to take the only thing preventing him from becoming a bloodthirsty monster on schoolgrounds with hundreds of children.... I think you have written him perfectly: his dialogue could be straight from the books (if they had your plot ^_^), all this polite and smiling passive-aggressiveness. But PLEASE don't have Severus warm up to him: I think Snape wouldn't want him as a friend with their history if Lupin was the only other person on earth!

Author's Response: I'm glad you like the characterisation. I keep having mixed feelings about Lupin. It depends on which argument I've listened to most recently. LOL I thought he would be a fun third wheel since there is so much history between him and Severus and the fact that he does owe Severus....As for what happens between the two of them, you'll have to keep reading. I'm making sure I've tied up the loose ends and bringing this to a close.

I love June W's idea about how to trap a Lethifold, that way none of our trio is at risk.I already had the shape of the leithifold in my head when I got to this chapter so I already thought of it as flat. You idea of an amoebic free form fits it better when I think about it.

Author's Response: I thought that's a fantastic idea, too....As for the shape, I now have visions of stingrays floating through forests. :)

Evil cliffhanger!! I say they should've given sleeping draught to Malfoy's spy and fed the SPY to the lethifold.... oops, used the sleeping spy as "bait" and then rescue him.... yeah, rescue Malfoy's spy. That's what I meant. (snort...) I do hope Lucius gets turned into lethifold food or something by story-end. Thanks for updating! Feed the lethifold....

Author's Response: June, that's a really great idea. Evil, but still great. Yeah, Lucius really needs to get his in the end, doesn't he?

You know as scary as lethifolds are supposed to be, they are funny. Like ducks, you don't need a joke, just the one word is a punchline. "It doesn’t matter to me. I’m not the one that needs a lethifold." Why is that just hysterical? Ok, I admit it, I'm whistling in the dark here, Aurelia better be ok. Or at least be discovered tending bar 5 miles down the road.

Author's Response: Thanks, Owlbait. I think lethifold is word like muckluck, it just sounds funny....I'm putting finishing touches on the next chapter, though I seem to say that a lot. I think I have one more scene I want to add it, but I'm not sure. On the upside, the basic story for this one is done.

The Chapter title sound like one of the old Road mivies with Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and Dorothy Lamour. I guess some people would call Remus the devil's advocate when he questions the ethics of obliviating Malfoy's spy, but I see him as the bleeding heart liberal. In an operation like this utmost secrecy must be maintained and Machiavellian tactics have to be used, the ends justifies the means. If I had been there I would have poured the veritas serum down the spy's throat. And now jealousy and suppressed romance have reared their heads, topped off with a cliffhanger ending. The lethifold won't kill Aurelia, there would be no reason for a sequel if it did.

Author's Response: Yeah, I kind of forgot about this scene when I mentioned that. Oops....Good catch on the chapter title. It's the hardest part of writing for me and it sounded better than anything else. :-)...The unfortunate problem here is that not everyone has the spy's view on ethics that Severus does...I had to do an evil cliffhanger, they are just too much fun. :D....Thanks for once again taking the time to review.
