I enjoyed this story very much. Thank you for sharing.

I do apologise for not reading to the end sooner! Hectic real life and all that! I've really enjoyed these little scenes from young Severus' life and will be looking out for the sequel :)

Ack! Ack ack ack! What is her 'job,' I wonder? It doesn't sound good, at all at all. :~(

Author's Response: There will be sequels to this; I'm thinking three or four. I'm writing the third story right now which begins three years after this ends. Ten-year-old Severus has taken root in my mind at the moment. But I plan to write about Eileen's employment (as story 2) as well.

Oooo, this is soul-wrenching stuff again! 'Maybe I should get her to slap me more often.' Poor boy! Well done, wolfmom!

Poor Eileen, I wonder just what dark arts she has to use to do her job. Has she become involved with a Dark Arts Mafia? I'll be looking forward to your sequel, I too want to know what happened to Eileen.

This is such a sad chapter, I feel such pity for Eileen, and empathy for Severus. He was so young when his father died, but he's having to grow up so fast he's losing his chance to be a little boy.

Oh, how sad ... poor Eileen really tried. I wonder if this new "job" will be more or less stressful than the mill. I can imagine little Severus trying to be as good as he can in school now, to not make trouble for his mum. Sequel - will this show Eileen's eventual fate? Thanks for posting!

Author's Response: The last drabble comes chronologically before the first one. Maybe I should change that...
Also, there may be three or four stories following this one. The one I'm writing at the moment takes place three years or so after the events in this story. I'm going to have to write something to fill in the gaps, and that will center on Eileen, I'm thinking. It's just that ten-year-old!Snape has taken over my mind a the moment.

Yikes...what a mess...and what a bad lesson for young Severus to be learning.

Author's Response: But what can you do? If she hadn't used a Memory Charm, they'd be minus a house and living on the street, which is a bit harsh for something the boy couldn't even control.

Author's Response: Or they could go live in cheap government flats, packed in like sardines and terrorized by Muggle thugs, giving Severus many more opportunities for dangerous "mishaps."

Author's Response: But I do concede that it's a bad lesson. This isn't the last there is to it, though.

Obliviate does come in handy doesn't it. How old is Severus now, how much longer before he gets his Hogwarts Letter? I knew the word sue would come up, even without proof to back them up people are ready to sue at the drop of a hat. At least he knows he can rely on his mother.

Author's Response: I am thinking about six, perhaps seven since his birthday is in January.- young enough for Primary school, yet starting later than the rest of the children. I'm assuming that he was born in '61

Author's Response: No, I did the math just now, and he had to have been born in '59.

Yay for Mum!! I wonder when she'll teach him Legilimency, and who'll teach him Occlumency. Thanks for the new chapter!

Author's Response: I don't think his mother would teach him either of those arts-I don't think she'd want him to have that kind of advantage. I rather think he's going to learn it on his own or blackmail someone into teaching him.
