Reviews for No Good Deed

sinaz0211 2005.10.14 - 06:24PM 7: Interlude Three Signed
I think you have it pegged the Severus continues to help the Order even while in hiding.I hope that his contributions are recognized in the series, as you have written here. I like your use of Kingsley (and his wife) as your vehicle to bring the information. Is this coincidence, or do you believe him to be the member we will learn more about in that *other* story? And then there's Harry...he is scary..keep him away from your plot bunnies!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, sinaz0211! I'm hoping I'm right, but I'm also hoping that Jo redeems Snape without killing him. I picked Kingsley because there has to be a sane, rational mind to compare with Harry. And I really, in good conscience, make that Mad-Eye Moody. :-) I think Harry would probably cast the Killing Curse on my plot bunnies without a second thought. I'm keeping him far away. :-)

Please update, I NEED to see what happens next! It should be an interesting relationship between an ex-Death Eater and a young woman rasied as a conservative Christian with a little girl tagging along....let the fun begin :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much, amycnorm98! I'm hoping to have the next chapter of by next weekend. It's almost complete. It's going to be an interesting ride. :-)

In rereading this work, I am struck by one line of questions: Did the Muggle consent? Why? What was the deal offered? There wasn't any need to go magical for pain relief. Inquiring mind wants to know.

Author's Response: That is an excellent question, KarenDetroit. Bartholomew Sebastian Logan did consent. Bone cancer is one of the hardest forms of cancer to treat with palliative measures; the other is brain cancer. Usually, one will spread to the other. That's why he was willing to trade all of his worldly possessions for something that would take the pain away.

Poor, poor Harry, scaring the nice peole and transfiguring Ginny's new boyfriend. If he has no one he respects influencing him, how will he ever give up the fight to find Snape? You're making me afraid for Severus, Miss LariLee; I'm not sure he'll be alive at the end of this story. As for Denbrow Sr, just give me his address and a silver hammer; I would be glad to knock him in the head a few times, save Severus the trouble. Here's more fodder for the plot bunnies so they'll let you go!

Author's Response: Thank you, Subversa! Harry is not a good loser and he feels like he lost his chance to punish Snape for the murder of Dumbledore, and as a result of that -- he's lost Ginny (which is illogical to blame Snape for, but that won't stop Harry). If you want to play Maxwell, just remember he is a car salesman -- so they'll be a lot of suspects in his murder. :-) Thanks again!

I forgot to mention in my earlier review that I really like your take on Harry. I have always regarded him as a bit of a judgemental, arrogant, annoying arse. I believe the politically correct term would be "misguided" or "misunderstood." He's guilty of holding just as big a grudge as Snape ever has. Oh, and taquila is misspelled tequila. (Hey, not all of us could manage an "O" in transfiguration!) It may be misspelled, but it'll still get the bunnies bombed. I will send along some nachos as well, to make them nice and thirsty. Start planning your escape now.

Author's Response: Thank you, MoreThanSirius! Now tequila, I do have experience with and the bunnies do need to get seriously smashed. :-) They'll love the nachos!

I had to catch up on a few chapters today. And I long for more! Such an intriguing story.
Did I ever thank you for writing such wonderful stories for us? No? I'll do it now: Thank you, Lisa!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, apisa_b! Just for you, the bunnies will dance!

Wow. Very good. I love the glimpse into Harry's side of things, even though he doesn't have the information yet, I think it is inevitable. I like how you've made the Wizarding World afraid of him. It would be very fitting for someone who's going a bit unstable....Ah, poor Severus. I like how he's the only one looking out for Maggie. And that definintely does ring true of small town America. Had Denbrow not been who he was and had she not been dirt poor, there might have been some sympathy for her....Tell the plot bunnies to release you and let you write the next chapter. :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much, phoenix! I think it's going to be inevitable that the Wizarding world will be afraid of him if he destroys Voldemort. After all, Tom Riddle is the most powerful, Dark wizard of the times, so some people will be afraid of Harry thinking he is more powerful. Small-town America... even the ones who might side with her probably won't risk upsetting someone like Denbrow. And I'm working on the next chapter right now! Thank you!

Ah, excellent. I feel so bad for Maggie. I'm not surprised that Denbrow Sr. went off, I just wish she hadn't been the recipient. So, does Snape use this as an opportunity to help her out? I hope so. He really needs someone. You've also done a good job showing her dire straights...On a humorous note, I love Snape's commentary to the TV. I've done that many times. :)

Author's Response: Thank you, phoenix! I don't think it's a Denbrow family trait to take no responsibility for your own actions. I agree that Snape needs someone, and so does Maggie and Mikayla. I've done the TV commentary thing as well. Way too often. I think that's why I read so much. :-)

Wow, a intermission heavy with developements. Can that really be called an intermission? LoL. ;) However I was just wondering, am I right in assuming that after preforming his "civic duty" that Snape will be leaving? Well that certainly gives the reader something to think about.

Author's Response: Thank you, Mary Ella! Snape is preparing in case he has to leave. And should he leave, there may be a black hole where Denbrow Motors is currently residing. :-)

Oh thank you for "tuning in" back on the Harry situation. I was beginning to wonder. Loved the way Kingsley found a clue about a false Snape! Very good indeed! Imagine poor Snape being tricked up on account of a muggle filling! Brilliant! Back to Snape....I was hoping he was going to fall for this poor waitress and give her a break. Maybe some whrere in the future? I just know we are in for a bad ride sometime later with Harry....it will be ugly but I sure hope Snape wins out in your version (I have a feeling that JKR will not be so kind!) Keep it coming! This is a a great tale.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, greenwood! We will definitely keep going back to look at the Harry situation. It was such a simple thing to miss, but for want of a nail... for want of good dental care. :-) Don't you think he's already falling for the poor waitress? I hope Snape wins out over all. You know I do like him, obviously far better than JK Rowling does. :-) thanks again!
