Ah, "the speech." *sighs* Snape teaching. Hee! Hee! Nice bit of humor. I just stumbled across your fic the other day. I finished Part 1 last night and have found myself caught up in your little adventure story. So now I wonder, did Kestral/Achyls learn the potion class speech from Severus or did Severus learn it from her? What came first...the chicken or the egg. *smirk*. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the continuation of this saga.
Author's Response: I didn't think anyone was going to notice that bit about "the speech". Seriously. Except Trickie. Kudos to you! I'm so glad you're caught in my web. *evil grin* Now you'll never be free! *BUAHA*
*cough* Yeah sorry... I'm glad you're hooked, really. Thanks!

Thank you for dedicating the trilogy to me. I'm going to have to go back and read Chapter 18 now to see if things are clearer to me. So this is the adult Lucius before Narcissa, he doesn't seem as evil as the Lucius we all know and love to hate. The arrogance hasn't fully developed yet. Rodolphus still has his balls, he hasn't married Bella yet. What a shame he could be so dominated by her, if he were the dominant one, I wonder if Longbottom's parents would end up like they have, vegetating in St Mungo's? Rodolphus has already had Achlys, right, and Lucius hasn't? Do we know what the connection Kestrel has to Achlys is yet other than Kestral sharing Achlys' body after taking the time turning potion, or is that a mystery still to be solved? I can't remember, you must update sooner. My middle aged memory is nearly a senior citizen's memory and it doesn't remember things as easily as it once did.
Author's Response: It's really great to have you back. Missed you and your critique. In this chapter, I meant to picture life before everything went to hell in a handbasket... well, before the handbasket got to hell, anyway. The connection is there, but muddled (on purpose). Don't worry. All will be explained! Slowly and badly, but it will be. And Lucius hasn't, correct. :) And don't be down on yourself. A senior citizen's memory wouldn't remember the last line they read! (well, my grandfather was like that. So, yeah.)

Yeah the horse in the living room made me wonder about you. This chapter has me confused, who is Rinardo and why come to her, rather than go to the gypsy camp himself? Does this have more to do with Kestrel than with Achlys?
Author's Response: This has far more to do with Kestrel than Achlys and, actually, I do realize that this chapter is all convoluted. I think that before I post the next one, I'll edit this one.
... a lot.
What? When I was little, I always wanted a pony!
What little girl didn't? I mean honestly. Granted, when I was little, I wanted to be a vampire not a ballerina, but still...
Thanks for everything, Trickie!

It seems to me that the vast majority of the Death Eaters didn't have to simulate ignorance, they were already very stupid and ignorant or they wouldn't have let theyselves be taken in by Voldie. He must have the same hold over them that Hitler had over his followers, especially his 'inner circle'. Since the men in both 'inner circle's had a reputation for being intelligent, I wonder how and why they got there. I'd understand if they were fighting a true enemy for survival, but the enemy they choose to fight are people no different from them.
Author's Response: I never really thought of it that way, interms of Hitler (and Stalin?). I suppose that's something I'll have to develop, because now it's intrigued me. Why? Everyone wonders why, but Rowling has never given a specific reason. Speculations are numerous, some plausible, most far-fetched.
I'd like to find one that's decent...
Anyway, thanks Trickie, as always!

So Severus finally gets laid, Goody. It was a scene somewhat reminiscent of Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate" and what was evoked by Deborah Kerr and John Kerr (No relation) in "Tea and Sympathy". In both the guys were awkward and the older woman took the lead, except in your story Kestrel took over from Achlys once things got started. How many chapters are left in this part?
Author's Response: Yes, he does. I was actually thinking of "Tea and Sympathy" when I wrote that -- it was good. How many chapters left? Damn.. it's got 34 chapters, hun. The other one beats it only by one though. And the next one is far more like "The Conference" than any part of this trilogy. I promise. It's DEFINITELY LOADS more light-hearted -- but kind of serious at the same time, because love isn't something that should be fiddled with.
Think about that last line. *wink*
Thanks Trickie.

I don't exactly understand what happened. That was a blood brother(brother/sister) ritual, right? I gather that sex is the binding thing in this ritual, right? It also seems to me from Kestrel's last remark that he already has the Dark Mark. Please explain so I have it straight in my head.
BTW my motto has now become "Angst sucks".
Author's Response: It's actually my version of the Unbreakable Vow BEFORE HBP came out. I always thought to have one of those before HBP -- lookie, lookie, I was right and one exists! No sex. And yes, he now has the Dark Mark.
There will be angst, but I can promise you that the levels will fluctuate greatly and the next book is going to be like "The Conference". Cross my heart!
