|One of the best stories I've read in a long time. It's refreshing to read a story with an original character but no romance.

|Excellent story. Now off to read the sequel!|

|Your story was recently recommended over at Potter Place. I enjoyed the read very much and read it all through in one day! Iíll tell you reading a non romantic story with an OC is not typical for me. I tend to stay firmly in the romance HG/SS land. That being said I sure did enjoy Aurelia and her daughters. I am thrilled to pieces that there is a sequel already going. I am looking forward to Snapeís life as deputy headmaster and how he might go about wooing the lovely Aurelia. Thank you! |
Author's Response: Thanks, MollysSister. I know it is very rare to find an OC story that is non-romantic, and in the long run, I think it has helped out. I think it really makes the story more believable that it takes them so long to work things out. :) I hope you will enjoy the sequel, too.

|I just read the whole thing in one sitting it was really hard to stop! This was an awesome story. I look forward to the sequel.|
Author's Response: bobdylan, glad you enjoyed this one. It was a lot of fun for me to write. The sequel is being posted and is up to chapter 8. It's Beholden to No Man. Cheers!

|Thank you for that story. I feel that you portrayed the charactors well, and crafted a compelling, believable tale- not any easy task.|
Author's Response: Thank you very much, kodiak. It was a fun story to right to capture Severus and Remus. I hope you'll check out Beholden to No Man, which is the sequel. :)

| Great. I love a good mystery. Well done with the interactions - subtle, subdued, low on the angst-meter. A sequel is a must. One the other hand, I hate that both McGonagall and Flitwick were killed! It's hard enough to imagine Hogwarts w/o Dumbledore, but without any of them?? Horrors!|
Author's Response: Thanks, Zen Lady. It was hard for me to kill them off and I agonized over it. I started this one before HBP and had already decided that Dumbledore's days were numbered, I can't right now remember if his death in HBP led to McGonagall's death or if I had her marked already. I think I had her marked. I did feel bad about Flitwick, but then again, war is horrors. I figured it would be very unrealistic for them all to make it. Poor Flitwick I think would have most definitely sacrificed himself for the students.
I'm glad you liked the character interaction. I found it kind of refreshing to have a non-Romantic OC. You can get a lot more character development done.
I am sending the first few chapters of the sequel out to beta. I'm feeling better about it, though I have moved plot events around several times. I think I like the order of events I have now. :) Hogwarts will be a different place without them, but there are some familiar faces still there.

|This story was great. I must admit I was apprehensive when I first started reading this story; I'm usually wary of original charcters. However, I found that I really enjoyed Aurelia. Looking forward to the sequel!|
Author's Response: Thanks, Tooi. I know that OCs can be hard to get done properly. I'm glad you liked Aurelia and enjoyed the story. This one was a real joy for me to write. I have got started on the sequel and hope to begin posting it before Christmas. :)

||7: Answers from Ashes
|Awww, I just find the relationship between Helen and Severus adorable. I'd like to think he has as soft side, too. Ah, another trip! Should be interesting...|
Author's Response: I'm glad you like their relationship. I really like how she has drawn him out of his shell. I think him having a child whose not terrified of him is a novel thing and he doesn't know how to deal with it...I hope you like the new trip. :)

|I am enjoying this mystery, however much RL hits me, I still continue to read it! I am a little worried that Severus is going in search of Lucius...is this entirely wise?! I like the developing friendship, and the relationship between Severus and the children is nicely drawn as well.|
Author's Response: Glad you've found some time to read it. I know how RL can put a bite in time and keep us away from things we would rather do. As you read, you'll find out about your doubts. I'm glad you like how he interacts with the girls. That was a hard thing to write so it didn't look OOC.

Fun story! And now that you aren't following the rules any more...the sequel can have romance ;).
Though I have to admit that the image of "Uncle Severus" and young Helen is just sooooo sweet.
Nicely done, and good luck with the sequel. Take your time...we'll still be here :). |
Author's Response: Thanks MithLuin. it really makes my muses happy to see that so many people liked the MacLean family. I've definitely got some ideas going for the plot on this one. :D
