Whoah! I was just reading some Edgar Allen Poe and this story gave me the same sort of eerie dread! Excellent. If you imagine Snape has got this in his past it gives a whole new meaning to the books! Great little story
Author's Response: Hi West Dean! I just finished reading Poe's every word. I'm on to Lewis Carroll now. No idea how that will effect my Snape obsession, but am looking forward to finding out. Thanks for making my day! |

Author's Response: Hi sevfrank! Thank you very much for reading and for your kind review. So happy I gave you even more incentive to watch Mr. Rickman. It is, without doubt, one of my favourite hobbies! |

What an intriguing story! You managed to make me suspend my pet peeve against 'Snape Manor' for the sake of enjoying your story. However, I had a little trouble with the idea that this is a ten-year-old Snape. The level of his abilities, in transfiguration and charms as well as potion-making (and the Dark Arts, which we know about, even though it doesn't make an appearance in this story), makes him seem rather *too* prodigious for a child that hasn't even been to Hogwarts yet. It would easier to believe if he were a little older.
Author's Response: Hi Verity Brown! Thank you for suspending a peeve for me. Sorry you had to do it. I see your point concerning his magic use. Will keep all this in mind for the inevitable rewrite. Thanks very much for your suggestions and for taking time to r and r. Love you for it! |

*shivers* Wasn't expecting the Cask of Amontillado ending! Something tells me that Snape Sr. can "cry Montressor" all he likes... ;) Gives an entirely different sort of spin on First Year Snape. Well done!
Author's Response: Hi Nirehtyls! Thanks for reading and for the lovely review. Somehow Poe and Snape just go together for me. Wish I could take the two of them out to an absinthe bar (in which case, you would be invited!) |

I love this story! Would you mind if I recommended it to other avid Snape fans at my group, AlanRickmanFanFicton?
Author's Response: Hi jessicadamien! You may do what so ever you wish to do, sweet reader. In fact I did not know about AlanRickmanFanFicton, and look forward to looking into it. Thank you for your info, interest, and for taking time to review. Your kindness is branded forever across my heart. |

Wow, very powerful writing - I could see everything you described. What a sad life for a little boy, with such heavy responsibilities. Is this a one-shot, or is there more coming? What happens when his father wakes up.... Thanks for posting!
Author's Response: Hi June W! Thanks so much! Glad you could see it. As far as know, just a one shot. My muse is in charge. I just type. I'm afraid to ask her anything, in case she laughs in my face and gives me writer's block, again. |
