Reviews for American Witch

Mary Ella 2005.07.27 - 09:43PM 17: To Sleep; Perchance To Dream Signed
Poor, poor Severus! But hey, the scene was nicely written. I am still amazed with the depth of her power, to actually have the ability to conjure something in a dream. I still thought that a lot of relied on the dreamer. It is nice to have a new perspective on her abilities.

Author's Response: Originally, I thought it would depend on the dreamer entirely, but then I figured, she's a witch, there's got to be something extra. Yes, poor Severus. I got him through at scene as painlessly as I could!!

Oh gosh! I see squickiness ahead. Poor Severus. And what is Malfoy doing with Lisa. They both seem to be in a bad spot.

Author's Response: I'm going to try and gloss over the squickiness, but some will have to seep through, alas.

Whoa. There's a new twist. Eep.

Author's Response: There are so many Snape fics up and around on the net, it's getting increasingly difficult to come up with anything more original! My muses are getting tired, I think!

And now a lusty Voldecrap with a softer contemplative side, never thought I'd see that. The thought of what he's about to force himself to do really grosses me out, but I am anxiously awaiting the next update to see if he suceeded in making Lisa able to enter Voldecrap's dreams.

Author's Response: I decided that since I refuse to see Voldie as omnipotent, that he should have a more human side . . . besides, it fits into this story better that way!

I don't know wether to applaud you on a brilliant cliff hanger or curse you for not having shared immediate answers. Yes, I admitt I can prove to be a bit impatient. Well, at least you know you have one reader hooked.

Author's Response: Thank you!!

I truly love the opening of this chapter, I had a good giggle. Yet my laughter was stifled by the horrid idea that Snape dreamed up to get to V. It is a truly clever idea, but one can't help but feeling terribly sorry for Snape. With that said, I would like to point out how well you are doing when it comes to the development of Lisa's talent. I love the feeling of discovering bits and pieces here and there. It is a very intriguing style and I truly enjoy reading it.

Author's Response: Thank you!!

Whew! And what a horrible idea that Severus has, although that it undoubtedly what it will take.

I'm glad to see that you haven't shyed away from the realities of Severus's past. And do keep writing, in spite of HBP. Your Snape isn't as far off from HBP-Snape as some!

Author's Response: Knowing this story wouldn't be finished until after book #6 release, I promised myself that it would change nothing. By the time I sit down to write, I'm hard pressed to connect my Snape with JKR's, if that makes sense!

I wish I had somebody like that to guide me through my nightmares. They don't come often, but when they do I had problems sleeping for a while. A sweet chapter compared to all the others, I enjoyed it.

Author's Response: I think a bit of sweetness was needed, to make it more real. In reality, there are sweet moments even in the darkest of circumstances, so I had to allow Snape just a touch of escapism.

How sad that he kind of dumped her after he found out about the Dark Mark. Voldemort is so creepy in this story!

Author's Response: I've always thought that Voldie would be more sinister if he was more humanized than something otherworldly!

Verity Brown 2005.07.20 - 05:33PM 13: Why Can't She Just Stay Put? Signed
Ouch, ouch, ouch! Bad move, Lisa!

Author's Response: Lisa is definitely her own worst enemy, and Snape is always bailing her out, or trying to!
