Intense, chilling, and ever so satisfying. This was the story option that first caught my eye, but I didn't think I could pull it off in the time allotted. You've done it beautifully, and I now realise that what I wanted was to READ this story option, not to write it. Thank you, and congratulations on your win.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your very kind comments - I really liked your story too! (mental note: get my lazy bum over to Ashwinder and write a review for it) This story option caught my eye early on too, but I didn't like the romantic partner that was required. Then, about a month later, after I had been indulging my burgeoning addiction to SS/RL slash, I took another look at the option and realised that I knew what I wanted to do with it...Thanks again for your review, and congratulations on your win as well! |

Eeeek. I really, really hope this is not Snape as Rowling has envisioned him, but oh, it does work with canon, it does.
Nicely done.
Eeeek.
Author's Response: Thank you very much! Wow; two "Eeeek"s. I think I'm blushing. :D I'm glad the story worked for you, but yes, let's hope that this ISN'T what JKR has planned for our Beloved Sallowness. |

I liked your evil Snape and this all-too-plausible account of the motives behind his actions. Enchantingly nasty.
Author's Response: Thanks very much! I'm glad you liked it. |

I much prefer redeemable Snape, but I find myself liking him in this because he formed such a beautiful plan. In fact, you've made me feel wicked for rooting for him. I never really subscribed to the "Pensieve was a set-up" theory until you presented your own spin on it here. Very nice take on this story option.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I prefer a redeemable Snape too, but this one was a lot of fun to write. |

positively Machiavellian!
I think you should have tied for grand prize on the Spring Faire award
Author's Response: Wow, that's such a kind thing to say! Thank you so much! The rest of the prize-winning stories are fantastic however (especially the grand prize winner), and I think I'm lucky my story got a mention at all, since it really doesn't fit the challenge requirements all that well. Thanks all the same! |

Dear mouse,
This was absolutely terrific. You managed to write it so that it truly sounded like Snape. You portrayed his hatred and obsession perfectly. You created a dark, perfectly angsty story which was a pleasure to read. I am in awe.
I especially love how he rationalises the types of punishment each of the Marauders deserved - and the end. It was just powerful. Greetings from Poland, Novinha
Author's Response: Thank you so much Novinha! That's very high praise! I'm very glad you liked the story, and thank you for telling me what you think worked. :D |

This was such a great look at 'evil' snape's mind. I'm very impressed. I'm also a little chilled by the singlemindedness of Snape's plan for revenge. Good work.
Author's Response: Glad you liked it! Thanks for your very kind review. |

Uh.... what an awful peace of shit Severus is. But I can absolutely understand that your story was prized, it's well-written and what delighted me the most: it fits canon so properly that I would never recognize that it's fan fiction. Although I don't think JKR would imply Snape using sex to gain power, it fits his persona absolutely well. I don't like his character in your fic because im craving for him being good, but I like the fic itself. Well done. I'll try to read your other stuff, too. Patrick
Author's Response: Ah yes, we all crave Snape turning out to be a good guy. I'm glad you're still willing to read my other stuff when you had such a negative reaction to the Snape in this one - thanks for your very kind comments! |
