Glad Etienne redeemed himself, but I was sitting their thinking 'Tell Mahuat you're getting a divorce'! If Spike does win the chess match can we expect to see a new froggy jumping around the villa?

Author's Response: poor Etienne! l think that Mahaut will be quite happy with baby steps, she's a realistic woman, she won't expect too much from him all at once, after all, she knows what his dad is like! as for the froggy, well just wait and see! severus is trying to behave himself though! thanks for reviewing!

Wahay! Another chapter - feels like I've been waiting for ever! I can't believe it's coming to an end though. Really enjoyed the chapter, and I know what you mean about wanting to wrestle with Snape for the last Yorkshire Pudding!! Can't wait for the next chapter... x

Author's Response: sorry about the wait, that was my stupid fault. not quite at an end, still 5 chapters and thena one shot to come. must admit, l'd wrestle alligaotrs for a decent yorkshire pud, and all these reviews going on about them is making me hungry now! hopefully next chapter soon, l'll load it this afternoon. thanks for reviewing!

Whoohoo! another chapter! And very nice it was too, if not alittle anti-climatic. Good to see youre tying up the ends nicely with the stuff with Etienne and the teardrop, although this isnt my favourite chapter, it made me sad...Anyhoo glad to see your descriptive talents got a full work-out, as ever you paint a very full picture. Can't really understand how anyone could'nt make yorkshire puddings though?!? Love it, keep it up xxxxxx

Author's Response: anticlimactic why? coz mahaut didn't yell at etienne? l think she just wants everything to be good again, so she's prepared to forgive, she does have a temper, but she has also learned a little patience over the years. actaully i don't think that the naxt 2 chapter are sad at all, but then maybe l'm wierd. as for not being able to make yorkshire puds, well my mother can't, she's a disgrace to northern women(don't tell het l said that or she'll give me a thick ear!) she can't make a yorkshire piud to save her life! l take her the occaisional red cross package of cold ones and she eats then with salt on. thanks for reviewing!

A very good chapter...finally poor Etienne has his chance to right his wrongs. I liked the fight over the last Yorkshire pudding.

Author's Response: l thought etienne deserved the chance to redeem himself, the sneaky little git kindof grew on me as i wrote him. and as for the yorkshire puddings, well, they're just worht fighting for, aren't they? thanks for reviewing!

Erm... Who won the chess match?

Author's Response: find out in the next chapter, honest!(who knew that a chess match could create such suspense?) thanks for reviewing!

So who won the chess game??? Okay, I suppose I can handle Etienne now that he has told his Maman the truth; will he or Mahaut tell Severus that Etienne apologized? And will Etienne still be wed to Lynda by story end? That was a lovely segment about Philemon and Baucis; will there be a willow and a linden tree over their graves? Will Mahaut be able to take Marianne to Aeaea? If I were Marianne and knew Mahaut was dying, I'd opt to go to Aeaea ASAP, before graduating Hogwarts, so that great-grandmere could go with me. (Sentimental sot that I am.) Oh, and I also like the bit about the Yorkshire pudding. Somehow, I could see that "Mexican standoff" - good thing poor Spike didn't take the last piece. And thank you for updating!!

Author's Response: who won the chesss game, sorry but you'll just have to tune in next time. who do you think won? philemon and baucis was actually what inspired this whole story,l work as a historiacal story teller in museums and schools, and that is one of my faves to tell, but the reactions you get are so funny, kids don't understand why the old folks didn't wish for chocolate, yet i've had older people come to me in tears because they just lost the love if their life, so it really does works for all age groups. you will find out more about marianne's visit to aeaea, but again you will just have to keep reading to the end. glad you liked the yorkshire pudding thing, it's 8am here right now and l think l would wrestle severus snape for a yorkshire pudding, well, actaullly i'd jus like to 'wrestle' with him...ok, drifting off into my own littel smut-world now! thanks for reviewing!

I am so glad to have a box of tissues near me. That scene with Etienne and Mahuat was such a tear jerker. I am so glad that Etienne was finally able to get this out before it was too late. I was also wondering when the "tear" would make it back into the story. I have a feeling we have not see the last of it yet! So well written.....this is such a wonderful story.

Author's Response: the teardrop will make a brief re appearance right at the very end, but you'll have to read the spilogue to find out all about it. sorry about the use of hankies, you probably wont need them in the next chapter as its a bit syrupy, heell, who am l kidding-it's so syrupy that preolenged exposure will rot your teeth! thanks for reviewing!

Oh...Severus the impartial referee...*g* Well, even though I don't like Quidditch scenes, this one is rather enjoyable.

Author's Response: yes, becuase we all know how impatial severus is, din't we? l really couldn't imagine any of them not cheating though? quidditch is not my favourite thing either, so l'm glad you liked it, thanks for reviewing!

Well...finally there's Etienne's chance at redemption.

Author's Response: well, the way l look at it, severus had a chance at redemtion, so his son deserves one as well. thanks for reviewing!

I could do with some chocolate ice cream now....

Author's Response: mmmm! l always want chocolate ice cream! thts why i refuse to keep any in the house! l bet duffy's home made is better than any you can buy though- at least amahut says that it is, and all of the snapelets agree with her! thanks for reviewing!
