I love the description of the island and of course I couldn't help being very very gleeful at seeing Severus suffer. :-)
Author's Response: oh you little sadist you! if l'd known how popular torturing the poor bloke was going to be, l would have done a lot more of it! glad you liked the island. thanks for reviewing! |

I really liked the textile bits, but I'm a total sucker for it :*)
I was beginning to wonder if Mahaut's silence was required by the ritual. The whole scene was starting to remind me of the fairy tale of the seven swans. The heroine isn't allowed to speak while she makes the nettle shirts that will undo the swan enchantment on her brothers.
Author's Response: l love weaving too, mostly l tsblet weave, l like doing writng in double weave and gold brocading, painstaking but satifying, l use a warp weigted loom occaisionally too. last year someone gave me an 8 shaft loom but l havn't had tim to play with it yet, toooooo busy! l hadn't hought of the tale of the 7 swans, l havn't read that one for ages. l don't think Mahaut had any trouble maintanning her silence for ritual purposes though, she was after all masiively pissed off at him! thanks for reviewing |

Really good chapter this one! Close call for Severus there....they almost got him. I am glad there is peace between them now, albite an uneasy one.
Author's Response: the eumenides haven;t given up yet, and they're sneaky little beggars. lthink severus and mahaut can sort it out, they're both quite resourceful. thanks for reviewing! |

I love the atmosphere you've created in this chapter. The attention to detail is wonderful and the Greek history and mythology are really interesting. Am glad Mahaut is finally speaking to Severus again! Hopefully they'll continue to patch things up in the next chapter!
Author's Response: Glad you like the atmosphere, l was worried l might have laid it on a bit thick to make up for the fact that she wasn't talking too him. Attention to detail is due to incurable nerdyness, rpobably spelling nerdyness wrong, as personal nerdiness does not expend to spelling, poor Kathy! Patching up will continue, worry not dear reader, although l can't promise it's going to be smooth sailing, Severus is still in for a couple of nasty shocks. this is due mainly to sadism on my part, oops, too much information, next l'll be accidentally letting slip about my evil master plan for world domination. Thanls for reviewing! |

And I thought the Dementors were bad... Really enjoyed the chapter - Pleased to see they're finally speaking again. I was starting to feel a little sorry for Severus, but then again, he was being a complete tit before... The Greek stuff isn't coming across as nerdy at all by the way - very interesting...
Author's Response: OOooh, l'd like to sse you call Severus Snape a complet tit to his face, maybe he'd be merciful and let you choose which hex he used on you! The eumenides just go to show you that anything boys can do girls can do better, or maybe that should be worse in this case? More eumenides in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing! |

Fascinating stuff! Death rituals, eh? Can't just drop dead and get flushed down a toilet... I like the way she doesn't let him off easy or quickly, but I'm looking forward to seeing the actual ritual for the baby. So it has to be a girl baby, not a boy? Thanks for the new chapter!!
Author's Response: Can't just drop dead and get flushed down the toilet??? Oooh boy, funerals must be interesting in your family! I can just seeit now, everyone, aunties, uncles, long lost cousins form outer mongolia, all gathered in the family bathroom, and the vicar say, "Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to help great aunty EThel on her final journwey to the great shit-house in the sky, and as we gahter around the sacred crapper to pay our last respects..." Who gets to pull the chain? Are the flowers made from bog-roll? l'd like to see the look on the man from dyno-rods face when he's asked to clear that little blockage!
Sorry, l wandered off a bit there, didn't l?
You know you really can't hand me an image like that one and expect me not to run with it! l'm going to have pseudo Monty-python scetches running through my head all day now, thanks to you! Naughty June!
Ritual, well , l'm not giving much away there, but it's based pretty straight and without any elaboration on ancient greek religion. and SEverus has to apologise yet, tee, hee, Thanks for reviewing! |
