Reviews for The Great Snape-Deveroux Grudge Match - Part III: Farewell

greenwood 2005.05.13 - 07:42PM 6: 25. Rain Anonymous
Wonderful! There is more than the storm brewing in this scene. I feel like you are blowing up a balloon and it is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. I can't wait until it pops! I miss Severus in this one but I understand you are laying some foundation for what will come. I will be patient...a good story like a good wine needs time to develope! Great job!

"Eh'gonarashu, Venator," Eh'gonarashu, Venator, Indeed.
The children's actions that night are far-reaching. I wonder how far they will reach. And for Snape, being tortured for bait, I sincerely hope Venator can find him. Excellent moving chapter!

Author's Response: Pretty far. Oh, and thank you SO much again for helping me with proofreading -- that was never my strong suit.

I got to work at about 8 am this morning and I started with the first chapter of the first part of your fic.... fast forward about 14 hrs, past the rest of my shift at work, past class... it's now about 10:30 at night and I've just finished reading this last chapter and all I have to say is "wow". I'm usually a SS/HG shipper and just lately I've begun to branch out from that and I have to say this fic is breath taking. I really love how you've written the characters and I'm in awe of all the work that must have gone into planing out such an epic. There are actions, and there are consequences and the characters are fallible, it really is amazing. How many more chapters are there going to be for part 3? do you have a update schedule, like every week or every two weeks? cause you have me on the edge of my seat. *grins*

Author's Response: Now it's MY turn to say "wow!!!" You read all of this in one day? I am amazed, flattered and very humbled! Part III has just started, and it's still somewhat in progress. It's completely outlined, and about 80 percent written in draft form. Tentatively, it goes from Chapter 40 to Chapter 66. So far, we have been able to update roughly once a week. There may be some lapses here and there since not everything is written yet -- hopefully not longer than two to three weeks. Thanks again!

Great chapter (I was ever so pleased to see a new chapter today! hee hee). The delivery of the "news" was very well done. Boy Ron is sure in character! Good job with his character development (you make it easy to dislike him - hee hee). Poor Severus (we don't see enough of him I think) his torment is starting but we only get quick glimpses of it. Something is going to blow soon I can feel it. I sure hope they don't trust Igor too soon....I am not so sure about him but he may be the missing link in the prediction made earlier. Great job keep it coming!!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm not so much sure about "blow" as "spiral out of control," but your instincts are good.

You are quite possibly the only person who could get me to like Filch. This was such a powerful chapter! I feel very sorry for Ari, but it does sound as if she's starting to get a plan. I'm glad she could finally learn some of the truth and I hope she can forgive Snape and I hope somebody can rescue him!

Oh so worth the terrible, long, suffering wait (one day between chapters is too long for me ha ha!) This chapter was VERY well done and answered Aurellia's questions through the a logical but almost forgotten source (Bravo with that because it really fit in well). Things are really tighting up in the plot . I also really enjoy the lingering mysteries (why doesn't Severus like flowers?) and the new little twists you turn us in at every chapter (White serpent? Trator in the DE camp? Hummmm.... I hope the next chapetr comes soon (Grinning insanely!)

It was a bit of a shock to come back here and see four chapters which I hadn't read yet. But a good shock. Although now I'm worried that Aurellia is going to do something spectacularly stupid and go after Snape, like Sirius and Moody and the Krums. Not that I don't want her to (go after him), but if this pattern continues the Order won't have anyone left. ;) By the way, I'm really liking how all the various pieces are falling together, even if it is taxing my memory somewhat. :D I'm really glad I decided to take on chance on this fic [I've read some of your others and really liked them, but usually Snape as a vampire/dhampire just annoys me]. But you capture the despair, thoughts and emotions so well. Yay for well-written angst!

Author's Response: Thank you! :) Well, first, Aurellia has to *find* Snape. This is not a spoiler, it's a given: she is going to do some things in trying to find his location that will leave people smacking their foreheads and cringing.

Well..well...well...this storm of a story is spinning tighter than an ice skater on fresh ice! It is just too conincindental that Karkaroff seems to have such bad luck in selecting his hiding places! His obvious interest in Aurellia seems a bit too much too....I seem to remember that old Voldie has the same interest (conincidence - I don't think so). Poor Severus...I can't help but think your title for PartIII is a sad one since it almost implies that Severus will die or Aurellia (or both) before anything could come of Severus' "finding the love of his life". You had me in tears again at the end of this chapter. Poor guy. Imagine the love of your life wishing you death by the most hated evil thing on the earth. How desparing and sad. I really like how you have the bond between them giving her hints as to where he is. You just know that she really loves him deep down in side. And you know she never heard the first half of his confession to the prats about his childhood and why he became a death eater. I was almost hoping she would find the smashed sanoro ball (sp?) and put it together and hear the whole tale. But alas that was not to be. I guess it will be a long and hard road for Aurellia to find forgiveness in her heart for him.. 10++++ (again!)
