Reviews for The Colchian Inheritance

Oh right.... I get it now. Only just realised what's happened to Severus!! Tee hee! My twisted little mind keeps saying 'squeal, piggy, squeal!' but let's not go there... Just off to read the next chapter now. That's the advantage of waiting a couple of days! I was never good at being patient, and cliffhangers have the habit of driving me mad. Great story, and can't believe I've actually started referring to 'Severus' instead of 'Snape' in everyday conversation (HP related, obviously), but you have made him very agreeable...

Author's Response: you mean you have everyday conversations that aren't hp related? obviously you have not yet been sufficiently seduced by the dark side, my pretty! we must work an that. thanks for reviewing!

Nice dialogue between Snape and Medea... But why can she not awake on the island? Is it because of the effects it has on magic of all in Mdeas line and Mahauts magic is now virtually non-existent? By the way, I realy enjoyed the description of piggie Snape and his pig urges surfacing at the wrong moment... :) However I don't think Mahaut will deal easily with being a squib... Or will she? Will she REALLY end up being a squib? (Oh, how I dislike when someone else holds the power to decide...!) Put me out of my misery and update soon... ;)

Author's Response: l think medea wants mahaut of the island before she awakens so that she will not spend the rest of her life there like medea herself did. mahaut tsill has power while she is on Aeaea, just like medea did. medea is not always nice, but what she does she does from good intentions, and l think she has realised by now that she deprived herself of a great deal by cutitng herself off from the world. as for the squib thing, you'll have to read the third vision for the full story, which is the third part of the trilogy, coming to a computer monitor near you in the near future! glad you enjoyed that dialogue, coz l had such fun writing this chapter, and the uemenides in the last chapter, they were fun too. thanks for reviewing!

“he’s my pig, and I love him.” LOL! Severus the pig was amusing! But that was a horrible decision for poor Mahaut. I'm just glad they'll be able to leave the island together. Can't believe this is the penultimate chapter already! Please tell me there's another sequel...

Author's Response: the description of severus as a pig was the first thing l wrote, it lurked at the back of my notebook for three weeks until i could put it into context, it was irresistable, that one. poor kathy though, she's been holding my cyber hand coz i was convinced i'd get hate mail for this. yes, there is another sequel, what began as a short story grew into a longer fic and now it's a trilogy! it's Mahaut's fault she keeps sneaking into my head and whispering wicked things to me. after i've posted this there will be a short one shot entitled" a picture of her" which was written due to yet another bout of insomnia. and the third part is called "the third vision", and it's set in the future, a lot of it is told from the point of view of their children. kathy just called me a big yellow chicken bird for veering away from part of my original plot though, so i've gone back to it, she was right, shes always right, bloody annoying when that happens-i hate admitting when i'm wrong! ch 7 of bella will pretty much tell you what the third visions about though. thanks for reviewing!

Right, so piggy is supposed to carry a fullgrown woman and get her off the island without waking her .... no wand, no broom, no Portkey ... what a grandmother! And it was Medea who chose to turn Severus into a piggy in the first place - she claims to have little power, and she wastes it by turning him into a pig. So there's no power left for a request from any other descendants? Sheesh... I appreciate the way you took a fairly grim segment and lightened it quite a bit - e.g., the worry about poor piggy-Severus balanced with quips about little noises of piggy happiness, bacon (!!!) and A sight more useful than Jason - very flattering comparison, being better than a child-killer. Okay, so now he has to get her off the island. This will be interesting. Thanks for the new chapter!

Author's Response: See, Hecate said it, Medea's snaeky and she's had millenia to subvert the magic of Aeaea to her own ends. l've always liked medea, and thought she was unfairly treated in greek myth, which was why l changed the story so that jason killed the boys, instead of her, l've always thought that was a prime reflection of ancient greek mysogeny and xenophobia combined. but l still think that by her nature she is sneaky and unreliable, partly because that what the world has made her become, partky l think by nature. severus still has his wand, it's just not much use on Aeaea. to be honest it was partly the vision of severus snape transfigured into a pig that promted me to write this stroy, l just couldn't resist, but l was convinced that lwas going to get hate mail for turning everyone's favourite potions master into a porker! thanks for reviwing!

Ohhhhhh what a cliff hanger!! True love will make it thruugh...won't it ?? Great story so far.

Author's Response: hmmm? true love will make it through, wait and see , dear reader, wait and see! do you know, l'm so dim, l didn't actually realise l'd written a clif hanger! obviously there is an insufficient supply of chocolate reaching my brain, l've been meaning to geta note from my doctor about it. glad you like the story, and thanks for the review!

Really good chapter this one! Close call for Severus there....they almost got him. I am glad there is peace between them now, albite an uneasy one.

Author's Response: the eumenides haven;t given up yet, and they're sneaky little beggars. lthink severus and mahaut can sort it out, they're both quite resourceful. thanks for reviewing!

Oh WOW!.....wow....wow....that was powerful.

Author's Response: sream of conciousness writning is fun, isn't it? l remember the 1st time l read "the ahndmiads tale" l had to go back and read it again straght away. thanks for reviewing!

Sigh ... it's my father-in-law (a retired physician) who reminds us often that he wants to be cremated and flushed down the toilet. That's a little Spartan for me, but I doubt I'd try to sacrifice a sheep for him! Poor Severus, at least she doesn't have to sacrifice a "pig" - and I hope they have a few nights of hot sex when they get back to Hogwarts. After all, now SHE needs to demonstrate her "wholehearted contrition," for not warning him that he's on Medea's hit list. So are you sure the baby isn't a boy?

Author's Response: your father in law sounds sweet, l'm very fond of mad old buggers, he sounds great! the greeks rarely sacrificed pigs, there's only one festival that l know of where they did, and in that case the meat was not eaten, bacause it concerned the underworld, usually the animal sacrificed was consumed by the worshippers after the bones and entrails had been burned for the gods(i didn't do that here coz rituals to raise the dead are slightly different). l've read arguments that it was becasue pigs were not considered to be properly domesticated, but i've always thought that it was because they're so dangerous, l'll never forget when i was five and one of granda's pigs escaped, coz it was the 1st time l'd ever seen grown men terrified. contrition and the baby thing are ont their way in ch10, very little actual plot in ch 10, (l could have wrapped the plot up in a couple of pages, instead i wrote 18, damned inner smut queen!) mostly snogging and make up sex, so you probably wont want to read that!thanks for reviewing!

Oh dear.... I just knew that Severus wouldn't escape being turned into a pig during his stay in semi-ancient greece! Mean place to stop the chapter though ^_^ I particularly enjoyed your description of the island and their time there: the heat, the mediterrean feeling, all that ancient history and myth coming to live. You did a good job in interweaving the homeric stories with your own HP-plot! I'll be looking forward to the next chapters.

Author's Response: l need a couple of weeks on a greek island, l've never been to Delos, it sounds like my kind of place with all those ruins. this story is the latest in my seriea of life events that l'm entitling "creative ways in which to abuse a perfectly good degree in classics", so l'm very glad that it is appreciated. and yes, it was a mean place to stop, but that's me for you. but seriously, l just couldn't resist the temptation to turn severus into a pig, there was just waaaaay to much potential (see next chapter), although kathy beta'd it and sent it back with a footnote ot the effect that with most men you wouldn't notice the difference! sweet girl! thankyou for reviewing
