Reviews for The Knight Errant Chronicles

Awesome as always. My particular favorite: "Lucius Malfoy take note, your reign of terror as Britain's Wizarding world's foremost Lothario is about to end, now that we've all seen a production of the Drunken Shakespeare Follies, courtesy of Severus Snape." made me chuckle out loud. Now hurry with the second part so there can be some more Snape/Emily snogging!

Wonderful Guernica! Really, really wonderful. It was cool to see this demonstration of the power Lucius has in the WW; in canon, for the most part, we hear about it rather than see it so it was nice to see a genuine example of how influential he is since I imagine this to be the case. You know, when I first read that Lucius regularly golfs with these important people I was a little skeptical. I kind of paused and was like, "Wizards play golf? What sort of golfing attire they would have on?" *imagines Lucius in argyle socks* Quidditch doesn't allow for much socializing and I couldn't think of an alternative to quidditch so golf officially sounds very plausible to me. I thought it was interesting that Snape thought, "the greatest prophesied adversary of the Dark Lord - Lily's son - was about to be sent into a maze full of obstacles to daunt many grown Wizards." He specifically thinks of Harry as Lily's son. Are you trying to hint that they may've been friends (or he had some regard for her) and that Snape reluctantly cares what happens to Harry simply for the sake of Lily? Are you going to touch on this more or was this just a passing comment that I'm making too much out of? =) I don't think of Emily as a fool for having dinner with Lucius. Really. Under the circumstances it makes perfect sense why she would accept a dinner invitation with him. I feel like some people are thinking that she's being a total nitwit but I disagree. She doesn't realize that he's as bad as he is - yet. With the exception of what happened in 28-29 which, granted, WAS a big deal, he has treated her like she's his top priority; he lavishes her with attention and affection. He may even give her more attention than he does to his own wife. I really, really hope that we get to see a little bit more of them together before the inevitable happens. Fabulous Guernica! I can't wait to read 33.

As always, Guernica, I love your prose and turns of phrase. A particular favourite here: "...the greatest prophesied adversary of the Dark Lord - Lily's son - was about to be sent into a maze full of obstacles to daunt many grown Wizards." What a beautiful way to sum up what Harry is! I know you took great care to ensure that this chapter was consistent with canon-GoF, and I must tell you that you succeeded *marvellously*. My heart started beating faster when Harry and Cedric disappeared... and we saw it from the perspective of Snape and DD in the stands, rather than following Harry to the graveyard. If fanfiction is supposed to help fill in what we will never know in canon, then you are succeeding admirably! Finally, I have to say that although I love your Emily, over the past few chapters (and now cemented in this one) I have been even more drawn to your portrayal of Snape. I especially love your method of signalling his feelings by way of, "If someone who knew Snape better had just seen what happened, they would have seen that he desperately loved her and was only faking being a prat," etc. I really think this is a valuable and effective narrative strategy for showing us more about him, while keeping his dialogue in character. I'm very excited about what is coming... GoF is my favourite book, and I hate that we don't know what Snape was up to that summer, after pledging to do his duty for DD. I anxiously await the next installment, as always... :)

Excellent as always, I feel for poor Emily - the post-traumatic terror she's got can be really hard to shake. I also liked Snape's carefully hidden (as always) emotions. Looking forward to the next chapter (as usual)!

I love you so very much, however I also hate you quite a bit this moment, for leaving it like that, and making her trust Lucius again! I'll probably write a proper reveiw once the second half is posted.

Gah! I swear, you have the ability to make me squirm like no one else. Have I mentioned how very much I love this story?

Excellent! Excellent! Checking this website for updates has become my new propensity, part of my daily life. When I read the part concerning Lucius playing the 'man who deeply regrets his actions and loves her forever', I had the sudden temptation to stab him in the back with something sharp. Concerning the picture, I finished the first one, spending five hours colouring it in with watercolous, a few weeks ago. The only problem ahead of me is to scan it in... hopefully my scanner will be fixed soon.

Well, as I already said on VV2, I read every single bit of KEC from Saturday night to Monday afternoon with short breaks to feed the children. It's wonderful. I could simply fangirl squee over it and I NEVER squee. Ever. ;) Your story kept me captivated like no fanfiction I've ever read before. The plot is riveting, Emily is wonderfully flawed and your Faery world is so full of life and flavor that I'm devestated it doesn't really exist. I simply cannot wait to see what you have planned for the future. I'm on tenterhooks to see what happens when Emily is on her own. I almost wept when Snape walked away from the door with her crying on the other side. I have enjoyed fanfics before, but nothing has ever challenged my emotions while I read it. Bravo!
