A great read so far! I'm worried about Snape's mom though, I hope she makes it! |

Your writing is incredible! I feel as though I'm standing in the middle of this world you (and JKR) have created. |

By the goddess, you are such a wonderful writer! It is as if JKR herself had written our dear potions master's history--only with richer detail. Your writing takes my breath away and if you don't write something original very soon, I shall be very cross with you. |

This is the best "young Severus" depiction I've ever read. Something about the salamander story in Olivander's nearly made me cry. So simple, yet so profound, so clearly foreshadowing his adulthood. You've captured his very essence here. |

I literally just finished reading and I'm really, really loving this prologue. It truly does feel like reading canon sometimes, esp. young!Snape and Lily. Snape's mother is so the way I imagined her to be. Narcissa seems perfect too, she doesn't say too much, she's just this quiet beauty without much personality. (Are she Lucius together at this point? I think, a few chapters ago, you also alluded to Lucius and Bella being together at some point. Has this happened yet in the story?) Oh and thank you for the descriptions of Lucius and his pimpin' (even then) wardrobe. I laughed during Snape's conversation with the Hat. The "I know Reducto," comment was too perfect. Wonderful, wonderful as always, Guernica. I could honestly talk about this fic for days at a time. ;)
Author's Response: Yes, I saw both Sev's mom and Narcissa as being victims of the Victorian ideal - Severus's mother gave up the intellectual life she loved for emotional isolation and an unhappy marriage, and Narcissa's taken refuge in the only venues really available to her - vanity and materialism. And I figured "I know Reducto!" would be about the Wizarding-world eleven-year-old's equivalent of "I know karate!" on the schoolyard ;-) |

Ah, honey, you know how Marauders-obsessed I am, with mild Snapeophile tendencies; thus, this fic is so totally up my proverbial alley I can hardly believe it. I *love* kid!Sirius. I *adore* kid!Lily. And, yes, kid!Snape is very entertaining. He's wickedly in character -- despite being 10 years old here, you've kept just enough of what we know of his personality from canon, and transferred it to a child-version. It's brilliant, really. I think my favourite moment is when he argues with -- then *threatens* -- the Sorting Hat!! *dies* Keep it up; you rock hard. ;) |

Oh, brilliant! How you make Lucius so impossibly charming, yet drop little hints of what we all know is his darker nature. Delicious chapter. |

Guernica,
This is a brilliant, scholarly and delightful story for beginning to middle and hopefully to the end. I have to say, though, I'm getting a bit impatient with those two and their romantic blunderings. Would you just do like you've threatened and lock them in a room together until they have a wild shag? :-)
