Reviews for The Knight Errant Chronicles

Ginger 2004.11.11 - 07:13PM 60: Part Third: The Hart Subvertant, Chapter 35, Continued Anonymous
This was a cool chapter. At first I was a little surprised that Emily didn't take a glimpse into Snape's memories (I really want her to understand why he's turned out the way he has.) but now that I think about it, I suppose it would've been ooc for her to do so. I never really thought much about the idea of Dark Faeries but now that it's come up I feel stupid for having thought all faeries are basically "good". *wants to know more about dark faery arts* Hee, Sirius had better watch out! I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. Lol, Lucius is the Queen to Voldemort's King and I still think he's cool. ;-)

Author's Response: Oh yes, my darling one, there will be more on the Faery Curses and Faery Dark Arts, to be certain - we might even see some of them in action, as soon as Ch. 37 or 38...stay tuned!

omg i love you!

Author's Response: What, Tilia, you didn't already know that you live and work in London and frequent London pubs?!! *snorkle* I thought you might find that bit amusing... ;-)

jeeezus you are good and I'm blown away again. When you publish you are *so* going to be on the NY Times best sellers list!

Author's Response: Thanks, gorgeous! And everyone, you MUST see the FANTASTIC cover art OhGoddess did for KEC: http://ohgoddess.com/KECcover.jpg Go look, go look!!!

Wonderful, as usual. I LOVED the occlumency section. The battle of wills was just excellent with just the right amount of tension. And just so perfectly logical regarding which memory Emily would like to hide and what memory she would use as a weapon. That whole scene was just so very creative - I think I will go read it again. With or without whipped cream!! Thank you Thank you Thank you for continuing to write this tale.

Author's Response: Whee - glad you liked it! I was a little nervous about how the Occlumency/Scyttantis scene would go over, because it is just hellaciously violent. But never fear, there will be LOTS more whipped cream. Lashings of it. The whole-fat, sweet-cream variety. Really really ;-)

i haven't words for how wonderful this chapter is. fitting seamlessly with canon, improving canon in many aspects. KEC should be required supplemental HP fans. well, those over 18 anyway ;)

I'm running out of adjectives to describe how much I love this story. You are such a wonderful writer, you draw one into the story fully and completely and one feels as though she is actually standing on the turret with the cold wind blowing and watching what is happening. Simply astounding.

This is the first time I've left a review...ever (I know, bad me). This story is absolutly wonderful. By far, this is my favorite fanfic ever. Your characters are so deep and your style of writing makes everything seem like reality. I don't know how many times I have ended up yelling at the computer screen. :O) Keep writing and I hope there is A LOT more to come. ~Rudy

I am, as ever, blown away. When finished reading the two chapter update, I said to myself the same thing I said after the first two chapters I read- this is too real. This should be a published book. These characters knock most of the ones you can read on a shelf off their poor two dimensional footsies. I would happily shell out good money to read more of Emily's adventures at home, her family, her connections. Your Snape is an utter delight. You've avoided the trap that so many fanfic authors fall into of making him too sympathetic. He's a right shit, and no matter how sexy Alan Rickman is, he's not canonical Snape. You have rendered a brilliant, complex, broken man into one of the most fascinating literary creatures I've ever read. With more depth than Rowling's version, you're still true to form, an utterly believable extension of her creation. This story is beautiful in the fragility and strenght of it's protagonists, the intricate weaving of events and histories. So, brava to you, this is most definitely a worth adventure. houses

Author's Response: *bows to the amazingly eloquent reviewer* I'm not worth-eeeee!!! You've happened on a pet scheme of mine though - I'm thinking of writing something original set in Arcadia (all that world-building is mine, after all, not Rowling's) and see if I can interest someone in perhaps publishing it. And yes - one of the things I love about Snape is that he does have all that bite. I don't really understand why so many writers like to "nice" him up - he's just so much fun the way he is - !!!

I'm only writing this because I want the whipped cream. Actually, marvelous as usual. Why don't I just say 'marvelous, extraordinary, fantastic', etc. about 50 times and skip reviewing? (Oh, yeah, I like whipped cream.) My one question was -- what will Emily say if they ask her if Snape is still alive? Why wasn't that discussed at any of the meetings? Yours is the only fiction I read any more. Marianne

Author's Response: '...what will Emily say if they ask her if Snape is still alive?' - a most EXCELLENT question, my dear. You'll just have to read Ch. 36 to find out...!
