| Yay! Definitely liked this, especially the fencing bout and Menzentius's surprising skill. I've heard epeeists declaim on the superiority of their weapon before. :) I also liked how you conveyed Snape's restlessness and worry. (And though I think Emily's worn non-black before, the amethyst robes caught my eye.) As always, I'm looking forward to the next bit, and finding out what they know of Snape. Yes, that's a little college fencer in-joke - I couldn't resist a nod to the classic epeeist/sabre fencer animosity in establishing why Emily and Menzentius are at odds. And aye indeed, we'll find out more about what the DEs have planned for Snape in the conclusion of Ch. 36. | |||

| What up baby! Man, this fic is just *so* addictive! I've written before about how I don't like to read WIPs, but this story is like something else, I just know I'll always come back to it. It's clear by the way that you write, you are comitted to this story and you love the characters as much a I do, I know you could never just leave it untold. As always, a delicious cliff-hanger to leave us mortals begging! Oh and the chess scene at the end was brilliant! I read so many chess type thoeries on the HP characters, but this was the best! My fingers are crossed for Emily at Malfoy's, here's hoping she keeps herself (and Sevvie-kins) safe long enough for the both of them to get their heads out the sand and smell the coffee (or herbal tea)! (And apologies to the Snape-types for the number of exclamation marks in this review!!!) | |||

| I hardly know where to start.... just read the whole story in three days, and this is my favourite fanfic by far,... the descriptions are totally, mind-blowingly amazing, whether itīs a Hogwarts feast, Luciusī plotting or Snapeīs troubled childhood - which was brilliantly expressed. I donīt usually rave about fanfics -I donīt usually review even, but PLEASE tell me this is a WiP and that thereīs more SOON. In the meantime hereīs a huge THANK YOU just for sharing Emily with the rest of us.

| Is there any way we can get an email announcement when this fic is updated? The frequency with which I check for updates is just shameful, and I really do have other things to do, but I want to read the next part as soon as it's up! What do I do? The subsequent episodes I imagine on my own are never as good as the ones you actually write. Author's Response: I'm hoping to put the first segment of Ch. 36 up early this coming week. Also, the SH admin were talking about adding a feature that emails you when fics in your Favorites file are updated. I don't know what stage of the project that will be, but I'm sure there will be a big announcement when it is. | |||

| Yes, I've finally found your story again, and it's updated! I started reading it over at TPMM, and when it disappeared from there I nearly cried. But now I've found it again, with that *fantastc* long Severus prologue, and all I can say is, Please Please PLEASE let Sev and Emily finally get back together. Those two are made for each other, if they'd only realize it. Can you at least tell us if it's coming up? 3 chapters away? 4, 5, 10? After the way he defended her and is SO dead set on keeping her out of harm's way...please, just ONE kiss? He deserves it so... Author's Response: Thanks, Rose - of course I remember you! Yes, Sev and Emily are more compatible than the two of them have yet realized - more on this later, I promise. And come on, if she had kissed him good-bye before leaving, it would have complicated things immeasurably. All I can say is STAY TUNED.... | |||

| I've seen your fic a few times but i finally got around to reading it and I must admit I was totally blown away. It took me a couple days to get through all 60 sections but I enjoyed every minute of it and I can't wait for you to put up more of your story! Author's Response: Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! | There is a *mistake* I made in the review below.
The first sentence was supposed to be something like: When did you start writing this amazing fanfic? But.. Some how I ended up typing up completly weird sentence instead. Sorry about that. Also, I love Snape more and more as I read your fanfic. I don't think I would see Snape as Jo (Ms.Rowling) describes as. He is such a lovely man! How could anyone hate him? I would like to keep him in my flat (apartment) myself. Emily better take him NOW, or its my turn~ hehe:) Author's Response: Yes, I still can't believe that Harry is a teenager now, and he's STILL letting Snape's snarky attitude blind him to his essential decency. To Emily's credit, however, while she's well aware of his essential decency and actually kind of enjoys the snarky attitude, she just can't imagine that he cares for her...*sigh* This WILL change, however, but something's gotta to give. All I can say is - stay tuned! | |||

| How long has been since you have written this?
It must have been between 2003 summer and 2004 summer.
I love this story!
But I have two requests to make as a fan of yours.
Please write more chapters. Do not ever give up writing.
You are AMAZING.
And also...
Please let Severus and Emily have each other at last.
I hate it when they come so close to let their feelings loose
and then it just goes up the flames.
I WANT TO SEE SNAPE AND SWAIN TOGETHER
and I am sure many others want to see just that, too.

Author's Response: Let's see, I outlined it in December of 2002, I think, and then started writing proper in January of 2003, and then the first chapters appeared on Erised in early 2003, I believe...yeah, it's been awhile! Trust me, Snape and Swain will find their way back to each other, and it may be sooner than you think. I swear, I would NEVER end this story without the two of them finally admitting how they feel about each other - I PROMISE. | |||

| Well, what can I say that has not been said before? I absolutely love this story, ever since I came across it on the Erised website. And I was in raptures of agony when Erised did not update for months and months...(well, maybe not wuite raptures of agony, but pretty close)...ahem. And finally, I found it here. I was delighted. New chapters, and so many of them. Yipee! I settled myself down for a good read and was not diasppointed, it is not very often that you can love character while wanting to whomp them on the head for their denseness, then lock them in a padded cell (difficult to bludgeon each other that way). I honestly squeal with delight when a new chapter comes out and, despite sometimes complete exhaustion, sit down and read it that very day. I live in anticipation of what my friend and I call the delicious Snape and Emily bits. And so, as is often my wont when I come across such a delightful story, I sat down to make a fanart. I didn't do Snape, there are so many of him out there, and they're all quite similar. So I drew Emily.
