| Loved this chapter. I felt bad for Dumbledore in this chapter. He really had a hard decision to make to ask Emily to put herself in harms way. Especially since I'm sure he's well aware by now (even if they themselves can't admit it) that Emily and Severus are totally infatuated with each other. Snape really suffered here. He was soo happy after hearing in the Pensieve that there was nothing between Emily and Lucius, but now that has been proved a lie (or more like a convenient omittance of details to spare his feelings) Oh, our poor, dear, ill-used Severus!
Also one really starts to hate Sirius here. As if he has room to talk about discretion to ANYONE. I love the tension of seething hate between him and Snape, almost tangible. Sometimes I don't think even JKR properly put that into words. Brilliantly done as usual. Keep it coming. |

| I had to make a note about this chapter because I love the part when Emily gives Severus a back massage. The acknowledgement of the constant stress he must be under and how so unuse to such tender attention his poor body must be. Plus it was just another little teasing bit of physical contact between the two of them to make all us readers go "Awwwww". Loved it. |

Also one of my favorite chapters so far. I love that she teaches him to dance, that he wants to learn to dance, even when other females in previous chapters haven't been able to entice him to do so. I'll bet there would be plenty of other characters jaws dropping should Emily and Severus happen to dance together again in future chapters. Ahhhh...how romantic. This chapter also has one of my favorite "laugh out loud" pieces of dialogue.
"Bloody unreliable, all of them. Fifty points from all their Houses".
Love it! You've kept him so very Snapelike even while intoxicated. Bravo.
Author's Response: Alright, glad you enjoyed it! I figured before that chapter came out - Okay, I don't know ANYONE who's ever written a "Snape on hallucinogens" story before that went for realism rather than broad farce, and the readers are either going to LOVE this chapter, or think it's absolutely horrible. Truthfully, the *only* way I could see Snape ever getting really intoxicated is by mistake, and then, he'd still be Snape, just blasted. And yes, they will be dancing again in later chapters, I promise :-) |

| Hello everyone! Hello Guernica! I'm new to this site and so incredibly glad to have found that I'm not crazy for being infatuated with Severus Snape. Also it seems that I am not the only one who has completely fallen in love with this story! I devoured the first 30 chapters of it in two nights of 5 or more hours in front of my computer. Today was my day off from work and I have been eagarly reading since 10am this morning only to exclaim "shite!" when I got to the end of this chapter and found no more to read.
Guernica you are truly fecking gifted girl. Its as if someone had pulled my own imaginings about Snape's personal life and what a truly wonderful match of a woman would be for him directly from my head and put them in a pensieve for me to watch. (or read, as the case may be) Only this is 200x better than anything I could ever have imagined. How true to form all the original characters are portrayed. I find it hard to believe sometimes that JKR isn't herself writing this story. There's so much history here that has been seamlessly added. I adored the prologue about Snape as a young man. Perfect. I have never found it so hard to tear my eyes away from my computer. Sleep seems like a fecking inconvenience to me lately and my husband is starting to feel alittle neglected I think. LOL. Emily Swain is a perfectly intriguing character. Intelligent, witty, brave. What a background story, you've really done your literary homework here I can tell. Not to mention enough steamy inteludes and sexual tension to keep a reader positively panting! You even have managed to put in loads of humorous scenes or witty dialogue that have made me laugh out loud! I want to either hug or slap someone (usually Severus) at the end of every chapter, its just all so incredibly brilliant! Gods, I'm ranting here but with good reason. I'll probably go back and add some comments at the end of some of my particularly favorite chapters but for now I just had to let you know how much I love the whole thing so far.
So please...by all that is holy do not stop writing or I think many of us here will die of unfulfillment. LOL.

| Snape believably intoxicated! Drunken Snape is a challenge, Snape on halucenogenic substance is nigh impossible to pull off and have him remain in character. I'm impressed! |

| You're killing me here, seriously. I loved how they each had separate moments of "maybe I underestimated him/her." Great stuff. Why oh why didn't Severus say somthing more about the Midsummer comment? I know, I know, war and all that. I can't wait to see how you manage to resolve all the misunderstandings and personal tension...oh, yeah, and that business with the 3 thugs has to get resolved too, I guess. :-) |

| Nice development, and the new OFC, Catherine seems very nice. I wonder if something might brew up between the Doctor and the Potions Master? He seemed to take to her very well. I wonder if perhaps Lucius's anger over this will act as an eye-opener to Emily. Great chapter, now on to the next! :-) |

| I can't wait for the next chapter. You have kept me glued to my computer with your well written story. You have made me an instant fan The Knight of Errant Chronicles. I cant wait to see what happens next. Your writting is so descriptive I can actually visualize all of the actors in the Harry Potter cast acting this out. I love how everytime Snape and Emily start to get close to each other something will pop up to separate them again, this along wth the great details given throughout the story makes me wish that this was part of the fourth book in the Harry Potter series. Again I can't wait to see what happens next |
