| Okay, so I had no idea who you meant by Lord Trent the first time I read through this. Then I figured it out (The Hand That Feeds by NIN is rather popular right now), and I looked up a bunch of pictures. Holy ****. I've now completely redefined my mental image of Snape based on Trent Raznor. Nail on the head, darlin', nail on the head. |

| Another smashing chapter! It has become impossible for me to seperate Rowling Snape from Guernica Snape. I have resigned myself to an increasingly elaborate & baroque stucture that allows everything J.K. writes & everything you write to be simultaneously true. In fact the more seeming contradictions there are, the more that proves their parallel veracity. Fortunately I'm religious, so this sort of thing isn't difficult to construct. I reccomend all readers do likewise. |

| omg...I had to stop in the middle of this chapter to tell you this is the BEST fan fic I have ever read. And I have ALWAYS pictured Severus as Trent..since the first Potter book I picked up. I love the way you have woven this story together. Have you written anything besides fanfic? You are a truly talented writer. I've been reading this every spare minute since I found it yesterday.

| hey there..how's it going..i was just wondering how r you going to make KEC compatible with HBP when in there Severes is the BAD guy??i never really liked J.K. Rowlings's Snape.. i still don't..but am totally head over heels for your Snape n i'll be devestated if you turned him into J.K's Snape..and the part from your chapter that really freaked me out was when moody says " I've a feeling that's going to end in either a long and happy marriage, or a Greek tragedy". Are you really gonna end it in a tragedy??..please tell me am just being paranoid and that all i need are 2 Valium pills and that KEC's Snape will always be the Snape i know and love..Please.. |

I already loved your story before as my past review might have indicated ^_~ And unlike some other stories here with strong, interesting beginnings and OCs you manage to hold and even expand the quality during the whole (now slowly bordering on epic) writing process. If I could follow only ONE story here on the site I'd chose yours. I was glad when seeing I could vote for your tale at those multifaceted awards and did so.
And now I'm absolutely thrilled how you're incorporating HBP into your story and doing it so careful, the new info blending seamlessly with your established facts. Great work!
I'd like to know something if it's okay: from your own story what is YOUR favorite scene so far? What scene are you seeing first when thinking about Knight Errand, what picture do you have in mind?
Author's Response: Bordering on epic...yeah, you're certainly right on in that. (Don't stand next to me in case you catch my virulent case of Robert Jordan's Disease.) Thanks for the vote - I'm still bouncing around squeeing over the win! Let's see, what are my favorite scenes...Ch. 1 remains one of my favorites. I also really enjoy the moment in Ch. 2 where Emily and Severus are professionally introduced - *gulp* "Professor." "Professor." Ch. 15 is full of important moments, especially the hunt and the Faustian moment in front of the fire, and Ch. 16 has a special place in my heart even though it doesn't really advance the narrative. The Mushroom Circle scene in Ch. 30 remains dear to my heart, as does Ch. 34, as it's such a turning point in Emily and Severus's relationship. The Occlumency lesson in Ch. 35 is a favorite set-piece scene as well, because the mind-to-mind communication is such a wonderful narrative device. The Part III Prologue contains some of the fic's best writing IMHO, even if I did get kind of canon-shafted there. But I'd say my all-time favorite scenes so far are in Ch. 40, when Emily and Severus begin to reconcile. The scene in the train station where he convinces her to stay at Hogwarts with him instead of heeding Lucius's summons is probably my all-time favorite moment in this story. ~GS |

| What an update! Thank you for another excellent chapter. Again, I am amazed at how you can be so creative and still remain true to canon. I loved the scenes between Emily and Sirius and between Emily and Percy/Unbridge. So true to character. Lisa (barkley) |
