Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story!

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, cadwynblack! I love to hear from new readers. Especially when they say such nice things. :~)

Lady Whitehart 2006.02.23 - 05:53PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
I am so running behind with reviews. Your Snape/Lily theory is excellent. The more we learn about him the more all I'm convinced that there had to be some kind of a connection between them. Even though we know differently, my heart nearly broke for Sarah when she asked if she looked like Lily. And I completely agree: “There are no happy endings. Only moments of grace.” At least where Severus Snape is concerned. As always you are most welcome, and thank you for letting me adopt your plot bunny. Do you have any others I can take care of? :^D

Author's Response: I'm running behind on everything, so don't feel bad! If you find any stray plot bunnies with an AMA brand on them, bring them on over and we'll see about you adopting them. :~)

What I was really reaching for when I wrote the "no happy endings" line was sort of a paraphrase of a similar line at the end of _The Last Unicorn_. I'm glad it worked out.

Lovely chapter. The Phantom of the opera quote is quite fitting. And yes, I am very much in the mood for Snape revelations. I have a feeling that the Amorentia is going to come back to haunt us in Book 7...Dun-DUH! Love this fic!

Author's Response: Thanks, inkphenda! :~)

sevfank 2006.02.10 - 07:39PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
Snape is so tortured - moments of grace - I love that line. That is way cool that Lady Whitehart wants to write a fic about your fic. I look forward to more from both of you!

Author's Response: Thanks, sevfank! :~)

Apothecaria 2006.02.09 - 07:52PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
What a fascinating take on "Snape loved Lily?" Poisoning with love potion would explain why he would snarl "mudblood" at her one moment, and be risking his life to save her the next. And it would help justify his venomous attitude towards the Marauders. This chapter seems to mark a turning point in their relationship. He has finally revealed to her the worst thing he'd ever done, and despite her doubts, she forgives him. The last line, "There are no happy endings...only moments of grace" is bittersweet. After a chapter of explanations lubricated by Firewhisky, you seem to be setting the stage for something portentious. Is it angst, or childbirth? Or both??

Author's Response: Actually,Apothecaria, we're heading into a bit of change of pace. Now aren't you curious? ;~)

seventonks 2006.02.09 - 02:53PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
about my name....originally it was seven tonks. (seven is my lucky number<---- i have a lot of reasons to support that; lol) although i am partial to snape/tonks stories.... hmmmm.... oh by the way i read "a single strand" ...its good....but you can tell that the author is different. meep!

Fleurke 2006.02.09 - 02:23PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
Beautiful, yet very sad. But even when he doesn't believe in happy ending anymore, I do, and I still hope that their's will be one. The whole relation interaction between them still gives me gooseflesh, at moments like the one you just described they feel so right for eachother even though it might be in very onorthodox way. Not a very helpful review perhaps ^^ but I just wanted to let you know that I still love the story!

Author's Response: Thanks, Fleurke! And yes, I still plan on a happy ending. And this *is* a helpful review--it lets me know what I'm doing right. :~)

Floris 2006.02.08 - 08:43PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
After all of Sarah's forgiveness and lack of judgement, if Snape doesn't fall on the floor in gratitude that she's willing to love him for who he is I think Snape must have moments where his hatred for himself is so deep that he can't really love Sarah *because* she thinks his actions are forgiveable. Great Lily/Snape theory!

Author's Response: Thanks, Floris! That's a very insightful thought about Snape's self-hatred. I don't think he can ever really forgive himself for all the things he's done. Justify, yes. Bluster, yes. Pretend to himself (and others) that it doesn't matter most of the time, yes. But genuinely forgive himself? No. :~/

hi, once again it was really great, you can feel the tension in this chapter, and more wisdom in the characters .obviously sarah actualy understand that you just have to live with the things you can't change and here she shows more wisdom than snape who have apparently decided to torture himself all his life long , gnawing at himself with the past.he seems to find in it a sort of pervers pleasure. i hope to readmore of it soon, i kiss you alex

Author's Response: Merci, Alex! I daresay he does take a perverse pleasure in torturing himself with his past misdeeds.

Owlbait 2006.02.07 - 09:13PM 48: God Give Me Courage to Show You Signed
*nice* theory. Neat and tied up. How nice to see Sarah showing her wisdom, clearly she has gained a fair bit in the last 48 chapters.

Author's Response: Thanks, Owlbait! It was nice to bring Sarah back into the land of rationality. And now it isn't merely a part of her childhood defense mechanisms; she's developed a bit more real maturity (I hope).
