| I love where you're heading with this so far. The "relationship" (for lack of a better word) between Severus and Bella is interesting. It's funny how a male can have no respect for a woman but still sometimes not be able to resist her physical advances. Women oft get turned right off when they have no respect for a prospective sexual partner It's little wonder men are so easily confused! At any rate, I just wanted to tell you that I admire that scene between Bella and Severus, and I thought the one with him and Lily was rather telling as well! Keep up the good work! :) Author's Response: I think Severus and Bella are classic co-dependants - both seeking acceptance and release but not wanting intimacy... or something deep like that. Urgh....the dinner with Tom Riddle is next, huh? Okay, I'm bracing myself... Sigh.... Author's Response: A "DJ" is a "Dinner Jacket" :) Supposedly very posh and only for the best of occassions. | By all means, Tarah, continue. The dialogue flows beautifully. I love the way you are developing Severus's character and showing how he became the sour and dour man of the present. (I usually do not read stories of Severus in the past; this one, however, I am finding quite enjoyable.) Remember what I told you on our message boards. Author's Response: Thank you, dear MoSS. | You know I loved your original drabble as a stand alone, but I am truly enjoying your expantion of it and I can't wait to see where you take it! An empoverished Severus, being easily impressed and led by someone like Lucius makes perfect sense to me. I liked the Bella and Sirius moment as well. I can easily see Bella acting like that simply because Severus doesn't fawn all over her. Great job, sweetie! :) Author's Response: Thank you, Pook my love. | awww!!! poor sev. i kind of like him as being a normal bloke and not all wealthy. i always saw him as someone having to work for things (also i imagined his dad pissed away their $). i can see where he wouldnt want bella fondling with him in front of everyone!! she needs to be discreet, the wench! lol. very nice. cant wait to see how the invitation turns out and seeing him dressed nicely! cheers Author's Response: Ah, South my love! Glad you dropped by. :) Yeah, Severus needs a more "logical" motivation to join Death Eater ranks than "omg Muggles suxx0rz!!1!". He is a rational man (well most of the time). | I'm glad you don't portray Severus as being rich. I agree that wealth is one of the things that probably attracted him to Death Eaters. Not sure if I can see Sirius Black caring about Bellatrix - since Sirius is a Gryffindor, I wonder if Bellatrix and Narcissa despise him. Andromeda is a different story. Has anyone noticed the change in Severus' eyes, or just him? Author's Response: I don't think Sirius' motive was to "protect Bella's honour" so much as to try to get under Severus' skin. I can imagine there being no love lost between the Black cousins. ;) No-one has noticed the change _yet_. Severus doesn't look anyone in the eye although... in all honesty, I didn't know the eye colors of the kids in my class while I was at school and we were basically the same bunch all through high school. It will be noticed soon though. :) Thank you for your review. I am still learning the ropes and I'm glad you kind folks are sticking with me. | |||

| This is good, but I still prefer the first chapter as stand-alone. Why does Bella put up with his rudeness towards her? Well, she is rather strange... Author's Response: I agree - the first chapter was very good as a stand-alone, but I am now so deeply intrenched in this story that you'll have the bear with me, I'm afraid! Bellatrix is... odd. It was hard to get into her mind and write her since JKR doesn't give us that much info on her in canon. To me she comes over as a wildly random person. Maybe she gets turned on by rudeness?
