| William Reilly and Rumsf-on. lmao I love it, especially the bits about everything being public opinion and media outlets for sale...hm. Doesn't sound like any country I know.
And bless whoever got your software (hardware?) for you. Great writing thus far, and I got almost hopeful when he got down on one knee. |

Awww, I love it when he drops to one knee by her side. The give and take and the sparring between Severus and Beau augur well for a friendship there.
Author's Response: Thank you, Subversa! Yes, not only do I have to give Severus a girlfriend, but a buddy as well. I think he deserves it. ~Lisa |

Woo!
I love the parallel to Bill O'Reilly and Donald Rumsfeld.
Author's Response: *Author looks most innocently around her* There was a parallel between Bill O'Reilly and Donald Rumsfeld? Really? I'm sure that was mostly unintentional. I hope you believe me. Better yet, I hope the current political party believes me. ~Lisa |

If the sun doesn't rise in the morning, she'll figure out some way it's her fault
So Tricia is a Catholic, right? Isn't that we who ask what we did wrong when a lightbulb goes off?
It is still great fun. I like how your Snape is attractive and interesting and yet not really sweet or nice. I like his conflicted personality and how he won't accept or recognise his own feelings.
Congratulations on your Multifaceted nomination.
Greetings from Poland,
Novinha
Author's Response: Thank you, Novinha! A Catholic friend of mine used to always sum it up as, "If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, do I still have to feel guilty?" :-) I'm Episcopal and he would always tell me that was "Catholic-lite" (half the guilt and half the social activities).
I'm glad you're still enjoying it!
and thank you, the Multifaceted nomination is a great honor

Whoever those folks were that banded together to get your Dragonspeak, bless their hearts. A talented storyteller is a precious thing, and while I wish your hands will improve, I am thankful that, while there are caring people in the world, your voice will be heard. This story is often a bit rough for me to read. The power of popular opinion in America, and how easily it is led by the those who own the media, even to the extent of going against our constitutional rights, is the greatest shame of a country that I used to be proud of. Don't get me wrong, I love my country, but I'm not lately very proud of it. We need a few more Tricia Meadows, if you ask me! :)
Author's Response: Thank you, PlaidPooka! I had not originally intended to lampoon or lambast American politics so fully, but once I got started it became almost a character in itself. And let's face it, if Patricia Meadows were real and a Muggle, she would probably be in Guantánamo Bay. Actually, one of these days I'll probably be there myself. :-) ~Lisa |

A deep thought...LOL! Okay, here's my deep thought...(well about as deep as I get)... I find it interesting that you didn't take the 'Victorian' approach to America. You created a much more modern Wizard world here in the good old USA. But the genius is that our favorite Potions master contrasts sharply in this Wizarding community obsessed with media images. Hmmm...a very successful spin, in my opinion.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, SeaIsleWitch! Looking at the culture that is surrounding me, I see Americans as very quick to grab what they perceive as best. When you consider how many cultures merged together in all the different venues of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the one that was quickest and best became widespread. Of course, we can always debate on what's quickest and best. :-) but I heard a comedian once say that Americans are the only people who stand in front of a microwave oven and say, "Hurry up, dammit!" I laugh every time I'm in front of my microwave ovens saying, "Hurry up, dammit!" So I'm really glad you liked that spin. :-) ~Lisa |

Okay, I read several chapters before reviewing--I am hoping you won't hate me forever for that. This continues to be fabulous and satisfying. I loved her goading the jerk into threatening her on live TV. She and Carol are a formidible pair indeed. I am so looking forward to reading more of this. I know I came in late in the game, but I love reading big stories all at once. Thank you for working with all your problems to continue to write for those of us who lack the talent ourselves. And thanks to those who helped you out when you needed it. I would love to help too, if you ever needed it. I owe you something, besides gratitude, for your talent!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, redvelvetcanopy! I am grateful for every review I get, but I don't hate anybody if they get so caught up in the story that they don't review. :-) Don't let it happen again! you haven't come in late, I think this story is about halfway through (the bunnies keep giving me more ideas). Thank you so much for your offer of help! Knowing that somebody up there likes my story makes me very, very happy! Thank you! ~Lisa |

You have some very good friends who care about you very much at Snycophant Hex, I'm very glad. I enjoyed this chapter, when the dressers appeared i kept imagining Trinny & Susannah from the BBC's "What Not to Wear" and what they could do with both Patricia and Snape. As I said before I don't like politics, but this was good. My politics are sexist, men don't come with a brain as standard equipment in other words. She did the kind of job on Rumson that I'd like to do. Most of the time , in my mind, men are good for one thing, especially if they do it as well as Snape. I'm sure you know the old joke, "What is the definition of a man? A life support system for a penis." I wonder if Pink Corsair would appreciate that one? See why I try to keep away from politics?
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Trickie Woo! There are some excellent people here at SyncothantHex and I feel blessed to have them in my life. I've always heard the one says, "the good goddess gave man two heads but only enough blood to let one work at a time." :-) I'm sure pink will make an appearance and let us know his opinion. :-) ~Lisa |

That debate scene was better than I had imagined it. I love the fact that the girls were up to something and wouldn't tell the guys. All in all I've been up in the air about the American wizards being more accepting of technology, but it really worked out well in this part of the story...Now, the question is, will Severus' anger outweight his releif?...BTW, I'm going to thank your guardian angels, too. And thank those that invented voice recognition software.
Author's Response: Thank you, Phoenix! I think one of the things that led to the great expansion in America was the fact that all the different cultures did mix even throughout the prejudice. It was no longer a case of doing things because that's the way your father did them; you did them like the guy did next door because it worked better. So it was a blending of cultures that helps things expand so quickly. So following that assumption, I think the American Wizarding communities would be more apt to go with technology and try to mesh it with magic. I'm glad she think it works here! And I love my angels! ~Lisa |

This is such a good story! *keeps reading* Sorry my reviews are not very long and detailed at times, but I have to read on!
Author's Response: Sniv, you said the best words that I could possibly want to reading a review! Thank you! ~Lisa |
