"Eventually, they may even start to like me. And if they like me, they'll be coming to me with their problems." Yep, that's something I am trying to avoid with my dunderheads as well :P |

Of course it would be the Ravenclaws to spot that Snape isn't torturing students.... so much of Snape's public persona relies on misdirection. I hadn't thought how difficult it makes his position in OOTP, Umbridge making him look soft--thank you for bringing it to my attention. Oh, and for a fun read.
Author's Response: Thanks! I've posted a canon-compatible version on Fanfiction.net as "Snape Meets with the Montagues," that includes a cameo by Horace Slughorn; have a look here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3311239/1/Snape_Meets_With_The_Montagues (I have trouble uploading to this site; it's not so MacIntosh compatible last time I tried.) |

His horror at the idea of being thought soft, was brilliant. I can just see him advising spotty youths on affairs of the heart. Aghhh! |

Oh excellent. Just the way we love to see our Severus - viciously capable.
Author's Response: "Viciously capable," I like that. Thanks for the review! |

Nicely done and extremely enjoyable. I think I'm just as pleased as Snape that he got to use his manacles. :)
Author's Response: Though I'm disappointed he didn't get to use them on Draco. I couldn't think of a way without it being too dire a violation of canon. |

"You might say diplomacy is not my strength." - Snort. Grin.
This was just great - such a great tone, and wonderful tongue in cheek humor. The way he manipulates those parents - the true touch of a master of the art! Perfect.
Author's Response: It's the understatement of the year, isn't it? In canon, we never see him interacting with Slytherin parents, and I presume he'd behave in a way that's acceptible to them, but I couldn't picture him being all gracious and diplomatic a la Dumbledore. |

wonderful story. You've captured Snape's riveting character and his narkiness perfectly.

Author's Response: Thank you! I think his sense of humour makes his snarkiness bearable. |
