"Eventually, they may even start to like me. And if they like me, they'll be coming to me with their problems." Yep, that's something I am trying to avoid with my dunderheads as well :P

Of course it would be the Ravenclaws to spot that Snape isn't torturing students.... so much of Snape's public persona relies on misdirection. I hadn't thought how difficult it makes his position in OOTP, Umbridge making him look soft--thank you for bringing it to my attention. Oh, and for a fun read.

Author's Response: Thanks! I've posted a canon-compatible version on Fanfiction.net as "Snape Meets with the Montagues," that includes a cameo by Horace Slughorn; have a look here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3311239/1/Snape_Meets_With_The_Montagues (I have trouble uploading to this site; it's not so MacIntosh compatible last time I tried.)

His horror at the idea of being thought soft, was brilliant. I can just see him advising spotty youths on affairs of the heart. Aghhh!

LOL finally someone he's allowed to torture.

Oh excellent. Just the way we love to see our Severus - viciously capable.

Author's Response: "Viciously capable," I like that. Thanks for the review!

Nicely done and extremely enjoyable. I think I'm just as pleased as Snape that he got to use his manacles. :)

Author's Response: Though I'm disappointed he didn't get to use them on Draco. I couldn't think of a way without it being too dire a violation of canon.

"You might say diplomacy is not my strength." - Snort. Grin. This was just great - such a great tone, and wonderful tongue in cheek humor. The way he manipulates those parents - the true touch of a master of the art! Perfect.

Author's Response: It's the understatement of the year, isn't it? In canon, we never see him interacting with Slytherin parents, and I presume he'd behave in a way that's acceptible to them, but I couldn't picture him being all gracious and diplomatic a la Dumbledore.

wonderful story. You've captured Snape's riveting character and his narkiness perfectly. (*)>

Author's Response: Thank you! I think his sense of humour makes his snarkiness bearable.
