This story thoroughly lived up to the potential of the first part. All the characters were perfectly I/C, and great ending!

Author's Response: Thank you!

This is a sophisticated fic. You have a good ear for dialogue, especially his interactions with the various students, from Neville and Hermione, to Draco and Pansy. I don't think that Draco's that smart, though I suppose there's nothing in canon to say otherwise.

Author's Response: Thank you; you've given some very high praise indeed, and I feel quite honoured. I tend to agree with you that Draco's maybe not too bright (or just too lazy for anyone to be able to tell the difference), and that Snape spoils him to stay on Lucius's good side - but I was playing "what if" here. Snape doesn't suffer fools gladly, and I started to wonder if maybe Draco has a real aptitude for Potions, and that's why Snape favours him. As you say, there's nothing in canon to say otherwise...

What a great story! Brilliant (and believable) interaction between Snape and Neville especially. And Baby Snape was sweet!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I really liked writing about baby Snape.

This was a wonderful story! I greatly enjoyed the interactions between Snape and Neville, with Snape's reluctant acceptance of Neville's help, and Neville showing a new stronger side that was still believable and in-character. Likewise, the scenes with Snape and Dumbledore were also very touching. The revelation of Snape being abused as a child and Dumbledore's anger at not being able to stop it was really sad. But the moment when the secret potion ingredient is found and baby Snape throws his hands up in the air while Dumbledore bounces him up and down made me laugh out loud! I hope to read more from you very soon!

Author's Response: Thank you so much; I'm delighted to hear you found some parts of the story touching (because then I think: "Gee! Maybe I'm not such a melodramatic hack after all!" :D).

This was an incredibly good story. I'm surprised this is your first fanfic, since you have such a great grasp of the characters. Even Baby!Snape seemed realistic! I also liked the bit about Dark Arts only affecting those with malicious intent; it seemed very canon-like to me. I hope you continue to write!

Author's Response: With very kind reviewers such as yourself swelling my head, I'm sure I'll take another shot at it. :D

This was wonderful, everyone was so in character. Neville's loyalty and determination shone through, and Snape's determination to continue however young he got was fab. Really enjoyed.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

This was wonderful! Everyone was so in character. Loved how baby Severus continued to be like Snape, even as he experienced the mood swings of a toddler. I've never read a fic that made me laugh and cry on the same sentence before, but Severus' childish speech was both funny and heartbreaking. Loved the scenes between he and Albus (especially Albus' memories) and he and Neville (especially when Severus confessed about his past). All in all, I loved this fic. Brilliantly done!!!!

Author's Response: *blush, blush* Thank you so much! I certainly had the most fun writing about him as an infant, while still trying to make him behave (bad baby!) very Snape-ishly. Thank you for your review.

Amazing story!! Lovely all the way, with many memorable scenes that I could picture. Baby Snape having to ask for "Up," being held for his nap, feeding from a bottle (what, no burp?). A favorite story to re-read often! (BTW, you scared me a bit with the solution. Ch1 said "steel ladle" not "iron ladle"so I was afraid in Ch2 that the "iron ladle" wouldn't work. In the Muggle world, "steel" refers to commercial iron that contains carbon.) Thank you for sharing this story!

Author's Response: Yes, I started out using "steel" in Ch. 2 so that it would be in keeping with Ch. 1, but then I felt like I had to keep pointing out that it was the iron content that was the problem, and that became cumbersome, so I just switched to calling it an iron ladle instead (which is ridiculous too - an iron ladle would rust like mad and conduct heat too well to be useable). Dang! Can't slip anything by you people, can I? :D Thank you very much for your extremely kind review though!
