| I think this is a real work of art, and so subtly and skillfully written, I absolutely loved it. I especially liked the references and parallel with mythology. Amazing!! Author's Response: Thank you very much for the kind words! The first part, where our hero and heroine meet, is meant to parallel the Hindu story of Kama and Rati, and the second, where they finally discover the truth about each other over a single guttering match-flame, is meant to evoke the Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche. There are all kinds of parallels between the two stories, i.e. Kama's and Cupid's bows, and how the two gods of love both have devoted wives willing to conquer any number of obstacles to return to them. | I've seen some fic pairings that scare the crap out of me, and this isn't one that would ever have occurred to me, but you handled it remarkably well: I really liked the setup, which was very plausible, given the lack of canon background on the twins. I've never really cottoned to the idea of Snape being a Sleek Sex God, but I CAN very well imagine him going for anonymous sex... One tiny little nitpick: Snape mentions being "closer to 40 than 30," but if my math isn't totally off, he'd actually be closer to *50* - if Padma is 24, that would put him at 45ish. (but if it's just a general abstract reference to age, then pay me no mind.) Anyway, the story was interesting in *concept*, and (imo) that's as important as stringing together a plot and writing well... | |||

| You must write a sequel. Now on the run where is Snape to hole up? Loved this story. Author's Response: I'd LIKE to write a sequel, but unfortunately I did get pretty well canon-shafted on this one due to HBP. (Yes, canon says Dumbledore is well dead by the time KMitD goes on, and as such, would be in no position to send Snape on any blind dates.) But oh well, I'm okay with it being an AU pre-HBP fic. | That was... marvelous. Simply... marvelous. You are truly a talented author, and I feel enriched for having read this. I am aware that is a strong statement to make about erotic fanfiction, but it is true none the less. The emotions unfolding fron these two very different characters were beautiful. The way they each cling to the dark as a comfort from their dayly lives is so achingly real, that I felt those emotions along with them; after all, we've all hid in the dark from something. And the simple eroticism of their encounters was more stirring than any graphic bit of PWP I've ever read. Thank you. | |||

| Oh, goodness! That was so great! I loved the ending! I kept thinking; "Oh, gosh! Are they going to find out?!" Such a sweet, endearing tale!

| All right, I'm guilty of not reviewing this fic, even though I've read it multiple times.
I don't know if it's because I'm Indian and can completely relate to Padma's views on her family and arranged marriages. I don't know if it's because the sex is unbelieveably hot and your writing is intoxicating. Hell, I don't even know if it's because Snape is in the fic.
But I do know that I can't go a week without reading this fic at least once. I kid you not.
You've created a masterpiece, and I can't seem to find my way out of it. Bravo. Author's Response: WOW, that's one of the best compliments I've ever received from a reader...you can really relate to the heroine? *blushes from head to toe* I mean, I'm not of Indian descent myself, but I spent a LOT of time on research, lurking at the soc.indian.culture newsgroups and researching the Hindu religion. I also drew a bit from Vikram Seth's "A Suitable Boy," the movie "Bend It Like Beckham," and I spent several years soaking up the social atmosphere while I worked in an Indian restaurant and nightclub here in California. A great deal of Padma's search for love, romance, eroticism, and adventure beyond her role as a dutiful daughter really just seemed to flow from my imagination unbidden, but I think that's a fairly universal desire among modern women. But I hadn't really imagined that I might create something that could resonate with someone who is a part of the culture I was writing about, I was just hoping to do my heroine's ethnic background justice and make her inner conflicts at least semi-realistic... Wow...just wow. Thank you so much! | |||

| I just involuntarily said "oh, you little sneak!" when I realized you're the same author of the other story I adore, The Night Errant Chronicles. I am very pleased to enjoy everything that I've read of yours! Not that you're sneaky, but I hadn't managed to get to everything you'd written, and was pleased to find out that I liked more.
