I love it when Sirius and Snape get into a snarking match! Great chapter :)
Author's Response: It was a lot of fun to write. I wanted to write how they talk to each other when the kids are not around, like with the sexually-oriented insults. |

You may be the first person to make me appreciate the character of Sirius. :-) He made for good conversation! ~Lisa
Author's Response: I'm having a lot of fun with Sirius. He wasn't supposed to play such a large role, but it just kind of happened. I have thought for some time now that Sirius and Severus are similar kinds of guys: both intelligent, stubborn, and emotionally damaged. |

I'm enjoying this ... as I enjoy reading everything you write. Your dialogue is great and your Snape adorable :-). I'm really, really curious where you are taking this!
Author's Response: Adorable?? Gee...I'm going to have to make him meaner :) I'm not actually sure where I'm taking this. I have future chapters visualized, but each new chapter I flesh out seems to bring up new ideas I end up trying. And it's getting longer and longer... |

Enjoying your story very much. I always liked the Tonks/Snape pairing as they are so different that it makes it interesting when the story is well written.
Author's Response: Yes, I've liked the Snape/Tonks pairing since I first came across it in smoke's excellent "A Wizard's Tale." And it's so infrequently written about, especially compared with the all the Hermione/Snape fics out there. It's fun to speculate just how they get along, since in canon, you never see them interact. |

Well done! I really like the way this story is shaping. You have a very smooth and flowing style that makes the characters come alive. I like your take on the curses damaging Severus's back. That is a new angle and could lead to all sorts of venues ( I have back trouble and know several people who do - one just got out of surgery). Back injury can be so disabling. I hope you keep going with this story, it is really good!
Author's Response: My own back problems inspired this angle. Though I haven't required surgery thus far. And yes, my updates are going to be more frequent now, as I came back from a week away, and before that I was working extra hours for other people on winter holidays, etc. I've got some clear ideas on where I'm taking this fic, including how it will end. To be honest, I haven't thought through just how I'm going to use Severus' back trouble beyond what I've done so far. |

Wow, what a good start to a story! Well written and full of emotion. I loved the descriptions Severus was giving. His naritive is so....him! Well done!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm trying to keep him as I/C as possible. It's a more interesting challenge for me that way. |

I can definitely sympathize with Severus for his back! Maybe if the Dork Lard would get off of Severus' back, he do better. I love the interaction you have going here. And Severus is at his snarkiest! ~Lisa
Author's Response: The Dork Lard? Is that one purpose?? At any rate, I love it! And yeah; I'm about the same age as Severus, and my back kills me just from standing too long during a particularly busy shift, so I thought, what would being thrown on one's back on a regular basis do? |

Great story! I laughed so much when Snape had to pay for Harry's present! I wonder if Tonks will remember to pay him back...
Author's Response: Probably not. But you can be sure he'll remind her :) |

Confabulating Charm is a wonderful idea! And I get the feeling the Head of Slytherin just got conned big time and by a Gryffindor!Very nice! ~Lisa
Author's Response: Ah, yes. But woe betide her when he figures it out... |
