Reviews for The Quest

This was great. I thought you did a wonderful job. I'm not sure if it's possible for those to really get along, I'd like to think it could be!! Well, kudos.

Author's Response: I doubt they'd ever be friends, but I think they might come to respect one-another. Thanks for the kind words!

What a touching story! Very well rendered! I especially liked the way you made them evolve according to their own maturity. Snape, by realizing the kind of abuse Harry was the victim of and Harry, by acting instinctively after lowering his guard and realizing that it was not so bad after all. I smiled and snorted many times, and that "I can read his mind" line was delightful! Not to mention the other side of "teacher Snape" you painted there. A very nice touch!

Author's Response: Thank you for the kind words. It is a bit of a departure from my other stuff, and certainly the setting is different, but I had a lot of fun writing it. Glad you enjoyed!

I did enjoy this, especially the Treasure Island reference. 10 points if you can guess my surname. What did McGonagall mean 'he was not a boy anymore'? Is there something you're not telling us?

Author's Response: You know, Im not sure Ive ever actually read Treasure Island lol! McGonagall only meant that Harry, with all hed been through, was mature beyond his years. Nothing cryptic, Im afraid. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a review. Im glad you enjoyed the story.

You created a great atmosphere in this one! And it was good to see Snape and Harry almost managing to get along. Good story!

Author's Response: Thanks - I had a lot of fun with it!

What a nice little adventure for the two men. I'm still visualizing Severus in blue jeans, denim shirt and hair tied back. Lovely! Some would do well to remember that this was written for an "Out of Character" challenge. Personally, I find you do a fine job writing and are quite descriptive. We all love our Snape snarky, but it is refreshing to see him ease up and relax a bit. I wonder if Harry would mind taking a stroll on the deck while I help his teacher "relax" a bit more. ;)

Author's Response: Mmmm, relaxing with Snape... Would that even be possible?
The story is a bit of a stretch, but as you say, its supposed to be OOC. I figure if Snape is going to get by in close quarters with a bunch of Muggles, hes going to have to modify his behavior as well as his appearance and hes going to know that! Thanks for the compliments.

Nicely written.

Author's Response: Thank you, ma'am!

A little bland but acceptable.

Author's Response: Thank you. Sorry you seem to dislike my writing so much. Could I suggest you stop reading it?

Wow ... I can see Snape being brilliant and powerful enough to do this mission, but I can't see 16-year-old Harry being mature enough to work with Snape. That's the "highly unlikely" part to me! Saddest lines: when Jennifer tries to get Snape to talk and he declines saying "It's for the best" with the "wave of intense loneliness;" and "some mistakes you never stop paying for." Sigh... A beautiful story, as always!

Author's Response: Thanks, June. Harry was tough, but in the Shrieking Shack, I think he showed his true colors. The fact that Snape was willing to trust Harry with his life in spite of hating him so much and knowing how Harry hated him, I believe would have made a big impression on Harry.

Hmmm....gave her another read. Like it more now than I did you know.

Author's Response: Thanks! That's most generous of you.
