Ooogh - I'm late! Everybody has already quoted my favourite bits! So this is just to say "me too"... And if, despite Larilee's hilarious observations, you decide you end up in angsty waters, I'm always willing to offer my humble services as Angst Advisor :-)... Oh, how I wish I could write HUMOUR like you do! Kudos.
Author's Response: Thank you, Sigune, and I can think of no one more qualified than you to lend angst support. You know I'm a great admirer of your work. I may have to seek your advice when the time comes. :) |

Vocalion, the very first time I stumled upon this story, I knew I had struck gold. Unlike many stories I have read, this story never disappoints. You have an unbelievable gift for comedy, not to mention a true talent for dialogue.
So, Clancy and Snape finally "do the slick and sloppy"! I think-- thought I may be mistaken-- that this is the longest period of time an author has waited to get the git and the OFC into the sheets! Not that I am complaining; onthe contrary, I salute you!
I was plagued by fits of laughter throughout this chapter. Here is but a small snippet among superb passages, which I particularly enjoyed: Indeed, he had been reborn! But, after a series of deep yawns, he concluded that he was merely tired. And of course:Snape discovered that being with a woman entailed a good deal more than physical release and a few Galleons thrown on the bureau. Amen to that!
Author's Response: I suppose 25 chapters is a bit of a wait, but I don't see canon Snape as the type of a man who would easily trust anyone, especially a prospective romantic partner. Even though this story is intended as a comedy, I've tried to interpret accurately how (I believe) Snape would behave were he to be given a love interest. Knowing that one of the main focuses of this archive is getting Snape into the sheets as quickly as possible, I am relieved and thrilled that some readers can still appreciate my story. Thanks for the kind words, Liz. |

I've enjoyed reading this very much!
It was a fun romp through the lives of Severus and Clancy - you write Severus well, and I truly enjoyed all the awful puns and pineapple jokes.
Good on you!
Author's Response: It's nice when a new reviewer pops in. Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it! |

What you mean there's nothing funny about Voldemort and the Death Eaters? They're a bunch of guys (mostly) who wear black sheets, er, robes. You know it makes you wonder, did they just yank the black sheets off their bed and transfigure them? And if you weren't good at Transfiguration, would you be the one in the satin robes? Or the Snoopy robes? And don't you think they wear those silver masks because they're all so damned ugly. I think it's from inbreeding. I'm sure quite a few pure blood wizards can count to eleven on their toes... well probably not Crabbe and Goyle who could not count to eleven even with help. And Voldemort... obviously the guy would make Sigmund Freud delirious with that whole giant giant snake he's trying to turn himself into... and live forever to boot! Yep, a penile object that lives forever. I could also mention he is surviving off the milk of Nagini. hmm... sucking on a giant snake. Calling Sigmund! ~Lisa
Author's Response: Yes, there's definitely potential there! |

Oh my. Oh MY! Tap dancing pineapples. Pineapple Without Porn. Other Fruit Character. Here I thought only I could appreciate the humor that could be found in fruit! I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. Thank you so much for that! But...I doubt I'll ever recover from the whole "Snape looking like a plucked raven" bit. That comment may single-handedly bring down my ability to see Snape as a sexual being. Oh, Lord I hope not.
I must admit I jumped right in at chapter 12 to see if your story would hold my interest. Needless to say, I am returning to chapter 1 and starting over. I can't wait to read the whole thing! Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you for giving this a try. The opening chapters are rather slow compared to the later ones, so I hope you can stick with it. Snape is still a sexual being; just not a perfect one. |

And I almost forgot...THANK YOU for the first ever acknowledgement (that I have read, and my apologies if others have done so) of morning breath in Snape fanfic!!!
Author's Response: You set a very high standard with your: "Their sweaty tummies made funny squelching sounds when they pulled apart, and all of their jiggly bits jiggled." Sex can be erotic and at the same time downright silly. Not to imply that there is anything erotic about morning breath! |

Alright, you...I hope you are comfortably seated, because I intend to gush. There are too many perfect turns of phrase in this chapter, and I feel as if I would end up retyping the whole thing were I to list them all, but "Half-god, half-git, an incongruous mixture of grace and grease? she wouldn?t trade him for any other man in the world." MUST be singled out for special adoration. " Indeed, he had been reborn! But, after a series of deep yawns, he concluded that he was merely tired." is also a favorite line, not only witty, but giving so much insight into Snape's character. Also the bit about "ecstasy & embarrassment." You probably know that I am a sucker for the "not perfect but good enough" Snape. You are a master of double entendres, and the man in my house now knows better than to ask why I am giggling, gasping, and guffawing while sitting in front of my computer... As far as I am concerned, Kilty Pleasures should become a UK Heritage site...I'll leave you to properly word the plaque. Thank you so much for this story!
Author's Response: Thank you, Grainne. Feel free to review early and often! You know I am in love with words and delight in playing around with them as much as you do. Something tells me that Clancy and Athene would get along famously were they ever to meet, assuming Snape could brew a Cloning Potion. I must give some thought to the plaque. |

Oh, the description of his drunkness and the mistakes that ensue are funny indeed! "Wobbled all over the place". ;-D And the dropping of the napkin, the beautiful wordplay, in effect you prove Muggle women and witches are both from Venus and Muggle men and wizards are from some place else, are all superb! The foreshadowing is getting scarier to me. I'm certain the Neeps and Tatties reference is simply to see if my new software keeps spelling it "meet in panties". ~Lisa
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, Lisa. Your software must feel right at home at Occlumency! The foreshadowing is scaring me too, because I cannot write angst and there isn't anything very funny about Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Wish me luck. :) |
