I just took another look at the illustrations and I noticed Snape was wearing combat boots with his kilt. Where did they come from? Maybe they were standard issue for Deatheaters. They never seem to wear out, my husband was a career Army man and has 2 pair he still wears for heavy yard work and such, and he retired over 20 years ago from the Army.
Author's Response: That was how the artist chose to draw him. I never mentioned combat boots in the story. :) |

At last, his love has come along. His lonely nights are over [almost] and life is like a song. Somebody should tell him Glenn Miller music is great for setting a romantic mood. Why don't you set them up for a 'Moonlight Serenade'. minus Lupin, that is? I'm glad he used the veritaserum and finally found out all he needed to know. |

Oh dear the road trip has ended. When they make a movie of this will they call it 'The Road To Hogwarts'? You and Clancy are just dying to get Snape 's pants or kilt off. So am I. |

it sounds like we are in the same age group. I am contemporary with Allen Rickman, just a little bit older.
Author's Response: I'm a wee bit younger, but writing fanfiction is aging me quite rapidly. |

Leaving the future in the past to return to the present, that's quite a trick as we went "Back to the Future" and back again. |

Claude Raines, he rounds up the usual suspects in Casablanca and is Bette Davis' psychiatrist. He was a good character actor. Another favorite of mine is Sydney Greenstreet. And Peter Lorre, remember him in 'Arsenic and Old Lace". Cary Grant was the king of the screwball comedies, I think I've seen them all.
Author's Response: When you get to chapter 25, you will know why I mentioned Raines.:) Yes, I remember them all quite well. William Powell and Fred MacMurray were also superb in the genre. |

Oh God, a gay bar! I'd like to see those 'neeps and tatties' myself. The tap dancing pineapple to the rescue with a Conga line. I worry every time I read him saying "I'm fully in control, nothing can possibly..." and now it gets really confusing. |

Even though you don't have the heart, he is the Ralph Bellamy type. Ralph Bellamy did a similar role in 'His Girl Friday', Clancy would be good for Rozalind Russell, and of course Snape for Cary Grant.
Author's Response: Poor Ralph. He played the same thankless role in so may films. It was his lucky day when "Sunrise at Campobello" came along. Who do you see as Dumbledore - Cedric Hardwicke or Edmund Gwenn? |

I wonder if it was Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwallllantysiliogogogoch? I was taken there when I was on a Parish Holiday in Wales on that trip 15 years ago. I love the picture of Alan Rickman in a kilt, he is so gorgeously masculine wearing it so Snape's gotta look pretty great in one too. Oh lord, 'The Great Snapini and Lulu'. The magic act was priceles, I loved the man with the pipe and plumbing problems. I guess if Charlotte Church was in a talent contest she would win. The story is now reminding me of 'It Happened One Night". When are the 'Walls of Jehrico' going to come down?
Author's Response: The "Walls of Jehrico" will come down in chapter 25, sans toy trumpet. As for the specifc details of the scene, how do you feel about Claude Raines? :-D |
