Reviews for A Right Bastard

kjr 2005.02.12 - 03:04PM 5: Who Is Lynne Fields and Why is Severus Saying Such Bad Things About Her? Signed
"...Destiny should have kept her frigging knees together.” This is one of the funniest lines I've ever read! I've really enjoyed reading this so far and can't wait to read the rest.

Author's Response: Thank you, kjr! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Thank you very much for your review,
~Lisa

Ha ha ha! Trish was a bad potions student, and Severus isn't going to let her in his lab unsupervised...funny! Peeves interrupting them was priceless. Thankfully, I have my Mastercard for that. Thank you thank you thank you for such a wonderful and entertaining story.

Author's Response: I just couldn't see Tricia as being some great potions person. I'm so glad you liked Peeves, I was worried about that scene. I was afraid I wouldn't capture him adequately. Thank you so much, Luna! You can send me your MasterCard number later. :-) I'm so happy you're enjoying this!

Love it love it love it. Want to snog it to pieces. You seem to have the gift of perfect timing both within your story lines, and when you choose to post your chapters. I was sitting down, thinking of the absolutely loathsome day that was ahead of me. I said to myself "The only thing that would make this bearable is if Larilee updates." I click on the front page, and there you are! Thank you! Another great chapter. This one has more intimacy than any of the others, because he opens himself up to her ridicule and judgement. Very tender moments. Excellent!

Author's Response: Thank you, Mariana! I am so sorry you're having a loathsome day. I wish I could give you another chapter right now, but I can't. Severus needs to open up. I think he's been carrying around too much stuff for too long. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. That made my day bearable!

Over the past several chapters, you've done a nice job of showing us how highly intelligent men can "bollocks it up." He wants to limit access to her family? Won't tell her what he's up to? It's not looking good for the Snape familiy line.

Author's Response: No, it really doesn't look promising. Yet, he's reveling in his smugness. I think the boy could learn something about love. It's more than adoring looks and a good role in the... wherever and setting up a few wards. Tricia is pretty accepting in a unconditional way. Severus should learn from that. If he manages to not bollocks it all up. Thanks, Apothecaria!

Aha! Now I know what the "bollocks" question was about (duh--should have figured it out sooner) and have found this update just in time for the weekend--what a treat! "Honesty was a trait with which he would prefer to have merely a nodding acquaintance." Perfect line! The whole thing with Peeves was fantastic (especially the rhyme)...splutters and chuckles galore on this end. I like the idea of the one-way glass onto the lake in the Slytherin common room. Yes, I know, not canon, but it seems so right. And it seems as if ominous things are afoot...can peaches and lingerie overcome all things dark and dreadful?

Author's Response: Thank you, Grainne! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Peeves really bothered me. Poltergeists are just really hard to write. :-) The Slytherin common room is not canon, but I caught some drawings for GoF and they've got a similar thing going on so I based the common room on those drawings and use my imagination quite a bit. I've got so much to ask Jo for forgiveness on, I'll just tack this to the list. I just wonder it peaches and lingerie can overcome a Potions master's smugness. Evil clue, I know. :-D

Oh, no... something terrible is going to happen, isn't it?

Author's Response: I think so too. ;-D Thanks, Melpomene!

Damn Peeves for spoiling perfectly good lemons! I really liked that scene. It was a nice humorous touch. Bravo on the limerick too. In fact, you do a very good Peeves. Perhaps HE is your alter ego. LOL! I fear things aren't going to go smoothly for the lovebirds. Will Trisha find out something about the claiming that doesn't suit her? Will Severus' need for privacy cause strife in their relationship? Or will he just plain "bollocks it all up"? I guess we will all have to stay tune for another chapter of A Right Bastard. I will be waiting with baited breath. :)

Author's Response: Thanks, Deb! I've been channeling Snape and now Peeves. I knew all these multiple personalities would come in handy some day. ;-D You know what they say: "Same bat time, same bat channel!" I'm glad you're enjoying!

Uh oh, is something going to happen? I fear things are looking too good for our couple ...never a good sign in a fic (until one reaches "the end," at least)! Severus's response to the nightmare was well done. Good luck dealing with your multiplying plot bunnies! Best, Sophie

Author's Response: I hope a lot is going to happen. :-) I figure we are about half-way through the story now. I'm glad you liked the response to the nightmare. Severus is just a bit too smug. And thank you, Sophie!

Great chapter! I'm glad Tricia found out about the claiming and I really liked the scene in which she claimed him. S. K.

Author's Response: Thank you, SPK! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Tricia had to find out sooner or later. ;-D
