Lisa, this is the first fanfic I've read since HBP. I had no intention of abandoning it, but I was a bit apprehensive about how I'd feel about things given all that has happened in canon...and let me just say that after a quick skim of the previous chapter to remind myself (and about six sentences of this chapter) I was right back in the action, a true testament to your storytelling talents. There are many subtle (and not-so-subtle) digs at American politics here that I appreciate, and I am in love with the line, "There are far too many potions that call for Dark ingredients, such as the liver of a lying man," but ultimately it is your expert plotting (and sub-plotting, and sub-sub-plotting) and your wonderful cast of original characters that make this such a treat. It may be AU now, but it is still a damn fine (and fun) story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Grainne! I was so hoping you'd come back to me. :-) You've made me so happy! I don't care how Alternate Universe this story goes, it's going until the end. I already know the epilogue. :-) ~Lisa |

I, for one, am glad to hear that you are continuing this story. A good writer, I feel, can work independently of the books, and still have a thought provoking and cannonish story. I don't want another version of HP, I want fanfics of a different caliber. So thanks from a reader that will continue to read.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Mary Ella! I am so happy you're enjoying this! I'll keep writing as long as people keep reading or until the story is over with. :-) ~Lisa |

*Curtsies to greet the Queen of AU* - - Thanks for continuing this story. ARB is a story in its on right and I wouldn't want to miss it.
Well, well, Neo-DE in America; and Mrs. Ripley having "untracable ties" to them ... The cat-fight was hilarious. Together with the good lemons it forms a good balance to the politics. I hope you are already working on the next chapter ...?
Author's Response: Thank you so much, apisa_b! I'm so glad you enjoyed the catfight and the lemons and I am working on the next chapter. :-) and as long as people keep reading, I'll keep writing until the story is complete. Thank you! ~Lisa |

"Severus disliked public displays of affection, however, he did believe in public displays of ownership." Enjoyed this line here very much.
Author's Response: Thank you, vanityfair! I'm glad you liked it! ~Lisa |

Thank Merlin you are not abandoning this story just because of a a silly little canon glitch! Your Alternate Universe subjects bow before you. And aren't the little plot bunnies cute when they waggle their ears?!? Hey, wait a minute is that one over there mooning me? Oh, no. My mistake. Apparently he heard you say waggle their rears...
Author's Response: Thank you so much, MoreThanSirius! I do have a few stupid plot bunnies running around, one will be up on Lumos August 1st. :-) ~Lisa |

Meow! The cat fight was fun! The smut was delicious (big evil grin). I love your bunnies. I know the events in canon have made it difficult to write SS. Just keep repeating that it was all a set up and keep on writing. Keep in mind your bunnies inspire mine (nibble nibble)
Author's Response: Thank you so much, looneyluna! That catfight was a lot of fun to write. And I get the feeling she's going to wear the dress every chance she gets, what do you think? I will believe Severus Snape is still on the side of the good until book 7 proves me wrong (if it does), so I'll keep writing until the story is over. :-) ~Lisa |

Oh, most definitely reading and enjoying and no worries on the AU, it's still a good story. Great job on the political intrigue. I find it very plausible to have US pro-pureblood factions doing the same crap that Voldemort's crew did. Of course, Severus and Patricia can't have it easy, that would be now fun. Hopefully you won't be too long with the next installment. :-)
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Phoenix! I'm so happy you like this. I'm working hard on the next chapter, and I'd better wait until I work on the one after it because the next chapter should have a nasty cliffhanger. ~Lisa |
