Reviews for A Right Bastard

Subversa 2005.09.05 - 08:28PM 1: So Many Buttons, So Little Time Signed
Well, I finally made my way to the chapter that started it all. HAWT. Follow that up with a number of equally inane expletives, and you'll catch my general meaning. This is an auspicious beginning to your novel length story!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Subversa! I think you can understand why I couldn't just stop after one chapter. :-)

Ok so you had this planned the entire time? *pouts* Evil author! Serves you right to apologize - I seriously believe that evil cliffs should not be allowed! This is just too much! Come on Lisa - you know you want to update right now! ;-)

Author's Response: Thank you, Sniv! I'm sorry for the evil cliffie, but I am working on the next chapter. I do want to update right now, but I'd rather finished the chapter. :-)

lunafish 2005.09.05 - 01:09AM 26: Out Of the Cauldron and into the Flame Signed
I've been reading like crazy since yesterday, ignoring my kids and the cluttered house, but I just had to keep going. Although I never thought I'd say this, I love Patricia as much as I do Vocalion's Clancy. She seems a real person to me with all her bravery, goodness, and toughness, too! And Snape may have started out the story "a right bastard," but I'm starting to think he IS good enough for your girl. As far as the story itself, I love the action, the angst, the political insights (some of those jerks seem so familiar--Scary!), and all the fun and juicy sex scenes! Now I'm trapped in your world and won't be happy until the next chapter appears. Let them get married soon, but I hope the story itself never ends!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, lunafish! At the rate I'm going, you might get your wish -- the story might never end. Much like the Energizer bunny, it keeps on going. To love Patricia as much as Vocalion's Clancy is some of the highest praise I could ever get. It made the plot bunnies dance! Thank you so much!

Dangit!! Another cliffie! Aarrgh! Okay, enough of that. Great chapter! Just know that now I really want an update!! *chocolate to the plot bunnies!*,br> GG

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Gardengrrl13! I'm working on an update this morning...er... this afternoon. :-) The bunnies say thank you as well!

Grainne 2005.08.30 - 10:55PM 26: Out Of the Cauldron and into the Flame Signed
:-O Ahhhhh! Ahh! Ah! *deep breath* Okay, I'll not mention that last bit, but I will say that you did a wonderful job of making a character that I'd previously loathed (Montgomery) seem human, which is always the mark of a good writer. And I did so love Deirdre's comments about the Abraxans. I had a friend (one of three sisters) who grew up on a goat farm; her dad used much the same threat on any boys who came to date his daughters!

Author's Response: Thank you, Grainne! I'm so glad Montgomery came off as human, I had my doubts about him for a while. :-) I think that threat is standard for anyone who grew up on the farm; my father used it on occasion.

phoenix 2005.08.30 - 09:53PM 26: Out Of the Cauldron and into the Flame Signed
Oh, that really was evil. I want to know more about the prophecy. I remember some of it being mentioned, but I think that's all....And poor Tricia. Something tells me there's more wrong with her than we first thought. I hope it's nothing serious. And, yes, don't wait too long. *taps toes impatiently* :-)

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Phoenix! I've been working my way up to evil for a while, it's nice to know I finally made it. :-) I'm already working on the next chapter and I'll have it up as soon as I can.

matf 2005.08.30 - 01:29PM 26: Out Of the Cauldron and into the Flame Signed
Evil, evil woman! Poor Tricia! I take it that the prophecy is the same one that is making Montgomery want to marry Tricia. Can't wait to read more. (You know, Lisa, this is what makes us readers want to bribe your bunnies so that they don't let you sleep. Here bunny, I've got some nice chocolate if you make Lisa update sooner!) So nyah!
--Martha

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Martha! Actually, the prophecy Montgomery was interested in was specific to him, this prophecy is specific to the wizards of England. You've heard it before. That's what you get for trying to make my bunnies keep me awake. :-)

matf 2005.08.30 - 01:18PM 25: Expected Enemies and Unexpected Allies Signed
Dang, Lisa, I love the way you switch back and forth between humor and drama. Snape's public display of ownership is wonderful! And I loved the women getting back at Diane -- that poor woman is just outclassed and outgunned. I can't wait to read the next chapter (which, lucky me, is already here!)
--Martha

Author's Response: Thank you so much, matf! I love to write a good cat fight. :-) It's almost as much fun as being in one.

MoreThanSirius 2005.08.30 - 01:14PM 26: Out Of the Cauldron and into the Flame Signed
Oh, dear! The evil plot bunnies are working overtime again. How about listening to that fluffy, smiling one over in the corner for a change? Will Tricia ever get past the trials and tribulations? Will our long-suffering hero ever have true happiness? Can they give each other the strength they need to find their way back to the lemon grove? These, and other questions, will hopefully be answered in the very near future. Until then, we readers will simply bite our nails and whimper occasionally.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, MoreThanSirius! The fluffy, smiling plot bunny in the corner features Evil!BDSM!Snape. There's a little scrawny one though that should give them some happiness. I will update as soon as possible because the next chapter is one I've been looking forward to for along time -- the return of Lucius Malfoy.

Ugh, those Neo-Death Eaters are nasty creatures. Clever of them to use a gun, it would be less expected, wouldn't it? I am having trouble believing that Montgomery really loves Diedre. I am still very skeptical of his actions. I am so very worried about poor Tricia, but am soothed by the fact that she is with Arthur. He should take good care of her. Excellent chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, redvelvetcanopy! Yes, the Neo-Death Eaters are very nasty, especially the ones who figure out the ways around restrictive magic. I think it finally dawned on Montgomery that he could lose Deidre for good. I can tell you that Arthur immediately Apparated to St. Mungo's. I'm so happy you like this!
