I'm delighted to see this story again; this was one of the first stories that got me into fan-fic when I first discovered FA. I like how you're incorporating post-HBP canon despite the AU-ness. This chapter: what a gripping backstory for Sarah. Silas' character is becoming more sinister with each update. |

I can't believe they didn't accept her. But I can really hate Silas even more now. Thank you so much for the update! ~Lisa/LariLee

I'm not sure how you do it, especially after 72 chapters, but this story gets better and better. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to read what else could possibly happen!
Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I love writing this story, and I hope you will enjoy more of it. |

Generally I only read short stories, and I never really wanted to start on this one, because it's just soooooo long. But this morning I was postponing something I really needed to do but didn't really want to, so (you probably know how these things go) I decided this would be a good time to check out the first few chapters of the story. And then I ended up spending literally all day reading the story. I just couldn't stop until I arrived here, at the last updated chapter! So now I still have to do what I should have been doing today, AND I am hopelessly addicted.... Can't wait for the next update! I like your Snape, he is very true to character, and you have given him a very believable history with the Death Eaters -- truly horrible but (or: and therefore) very realistic. I find the concept of Blood Magic and the Painstone fascinating. And I like it that you've made Sarah a conflicted, far from perfect and therefore very believable character. Very much like Snape actually! Well I suppose that was enough for now, I promise that my future reviews will be shorter!
Author's Response: I'm so glad that you tried tLS, and I'm glad that it interested you. I worked very had on the blood magic and the Painstone concepts, and I'm so delighted that it paid off. I am very much enjoying writing Sarah, she is an interesting character to write. And I love long reviews! Thank you so much for taking the time to jot down your thoughts, I enjoyed them very much. |

I get the feeling that Nott is not what he seems. He's too intelligent to just blindly follow the herd... |

It's difficult to write a long scene of backstory told through conversation, and to keep it interesting at the same time, but you have definitely done that (I noticed that a few reviewers whinged about Snape's long 'monolgue' in Spinner's End, but I enjoyed it). I await the next chapter's verdict.
Author's Response: I'm so glad that it worked for you. I was really freaked about writing a three part chapter where the only thing happening is Sarah talking nearly non-stop. Thanks so very much. |
