Reviews for The Last Sanguimagus

Darklit 2004.12.01 - 10:12AM 58: Chapter Fifty-eight: An Order Meeting Anonymous
I'm really enjoying this story! That exchange between Remus and Severus at the end was inspired :) Keep it up!

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it! I really liked writing the little exchange between the two; they have so much history together.

severus can be an asswhole when he wants to, can't he. well, i guess it's just the way he is...

Author's Response: And I think most Snape-fanciers wouldn't want him any other way...*grins*

Silas had a little bit of a Gilderoy moment there, didn't he? Damn, I really don't like him. I probably mentioned that before. But the "Weasley hen" appellation is priceless. Great chapter! Building suspense nicely for me. ~Lisa

Author's Response: Hmmm...I'm getting the feeling that you don't like Silas. I really had fun writing the Remus/Severus interaction...for some reason that just really energized me. Thank you so much for all of your thoughtful reviews!

Wow. I ususally review chapter by chapter these days but I couldn't stop myself with this one. I just wanted to keep going. This is one of my favorites! The quality never goes down; in fact it just keeps getting better. The worst part about this story is when I have to wait for updates! I am getting excited because I feel a deepening of feelings between our witch and Master...hmmm...riveting! Uhm, may I have some more please?

Author's Response: Hey, thanks! I've always been frustrated with WIP stories that somehow morph into something else, which is why I worked out a detailed outline beforehand. I must admit, right now I'm in the middle of an unplanned/un-outlined week, and it's a bit difficult, but in general I've followed my plan and the story, and it is developing into something I like. Sorry about waiting for updates...when I don't have it outlined it takes a little longer! But don't worry, once I'm back on the plan, I'll be injecting some new action into the story.

So far this is one of the BEST stories I have ever read. I love that you take the time to develop the plot and the characters (severus and narcissa very surprising!!) .Sarah is BY FAR the most interesting original charater i have ever read, definately a well thought out character perfectly suited for snape. Also the IMMENSE tension between the two because of their dark history makes for a much more angsty and INTENSE relationship (which I LOVE).It is interesting to see how she could possibly enter a relationship with a man responsible for years of pain and destroying her life. I really hope u continue the story because your outstanding talent really shines through. I jus hope that there will be a little bit of smut soon;) caus the sexual tension between them is INCREDIBLE!

Author's Response: Wow...an anonymous review from anonymous! Heh. Amazing praise! I am reeling from this review. I'm glad that you like Sarah...I read a lot of OC fics and tried to avoid cliches, though of course you can't avoid them entirely. They are taking their little baby steps towards each other at this point, which is all I can reasonably do without compromising their characters. I promise, though, that there is some action coming up in a few chapters...some interesting events...that's all I can say. Thank you so much for your review!

Most 6th-year fics with a new teacher who's bound to shag Snape eventually are rather boring. Yours isn't. I like the attention for details in your fic, like Ginny being Quidditch captain,Peeves's intrusion during the sorting song... I also like the fact that your respecting canon. It's quite probable that Sarah Tanner will play in important role in the fic, but it's still a Harry Potter fic. You have avoided one of the pitfalls writers of OC fics have to watch out for. A fine read.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much. I wanted to keep the JKR tone, if possible, though it's very difficult...she really packs in a lot of story. I really wanted Sarah to be an addition to the story, and not an overwhelming annexation of the story. The fic still has problems, of course---every fic does---but I'm glad that you are finding it interesting so far!

You are quite welcome with the reviews. It seems poor payment though for a story of this magnitude. I knew Snape would get the points back for Slytherin, could that be Silas' motivation... get even the teachers in the uproar. And you've made me feel some sympathy for a Malfoy (my favorite love-to-hate family). Kudos! ~Lisa

Author's Response: You are the fastest reviewer ever, I swear. Minutes after validation I can expect a note from you. Thank you so much! Sympathy for the devil, eh? ;) Well, no one is purely evil or good...even Voldemort has something, I'm certain. Narcissa and Lucius intrigue me tremendously, with their tremendous power and their money, and I love wondering how they ended up at their particular mindset. I've tried to make their particular problems plausible.

Dagnapit! What is Silas playing at? And why? Is he trying to lull the Gryffindors with false praise (as some Snape theorists believe he is doing with his Slytherins)? Is he trying to goad the Slytherins into some nefarious action? Have I mentioned I really don't like Silas? I'm glad you pointed out this was a new chapter or I might have missed it. ~Lisa

merryday 2004.11.19 - 12:18AM 55: Chapter Fifty-five: A Cup of Tea Anonymous
I just found this story, and it is wonderful. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you took a chance on this story...thank you! I've been on a bit of a roll lately, so there are a few new ones.

Apothecaria 2004.11.17 - 03:49PM 55: Chapter Fifty-five: A Cup of Tea Anonymous
This is a nice contemplative chapter, showing how Sarah is healing by her enjoyment of such simple pleasures as a quiet walk, and a hot cup of tea. And Severus seems to be healing, too.

Author's Response: Glad that you noticed! I wanted to have a quite moment in the fic, and I'm happy that people enjoyed it.
