Reviews for The Solitary Slytherin

In light of the HBP, this is a very good "how he got started" story still! If one were to simply remove the bit about his being a pureblood, it still could ring very true! Well done!

Author's Response: Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it! I hadn't thought about updating it, but you're right--it could easily be done... Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Oh my God, this is....probably the best Snape fic I have ever read. Ever. "Severus never knew what became of her: she had blossomed in his life as a child, had grown with him until she had been choked by the weeds of his soul, then had promptly scattered herself to the wind." Utterly, completely beautiful. And incredibly realistic.

Author's Response: Awwwwwww! Thanks SO much for such high praise! *beams* I'm glad you liked that line--I was a wee bit worried I'd overdone it there. :)

Wow. I stumbled across this fic as it was rec'd by a friend of mine in her LJ, and I am so glad that I took the time to read it. Brilliantly done, the way you have managed to introduce an original character while keeping it painfully canon. I have always been curious as to what JK herself could come up with as a backstory to Snape's past, but until she does, this will more than suffice. Again, brilliant. Thank you.

Author's Response: Tickled you liked the story and thought it in keeping with canon -- always a concern when writing OFCs (or semi-OFCs as the case may be). I, too, cannot *wait* to see what JKR cooks up for dear Snape's tortured past. Thanks for the review! :)

What a gorgeous story! I am sent here by Snapesforte, who definitely knows great talent when she sees it. I love the portrait or his parents and I had blinked twice when reading it wasn`t his father that had killed his mother. It`s a touchy subject but you`ve handled it quite nicely. It is a nice story about a love that time forgot, as it was only mentioned once in the books but you`ve adapted it quite nicely in your story. Definitely a 9

Author's Response: *blushes* Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the parents -- I very much enjoyed writing them and was worried about how they came across. :)

Brilliant! I can't believe this story does not have more reviews. I'm going to pimp it and see if I can get you some more, because you deserve them!

Author's Response: Awwwwwwwww *bows humbly to the goddess of Snape-y wisdom that is Snapesforte* Thanks!!!! I'm in your debt. :)

Wonderful backstory! And a great reason for Severus to leave. I wonder what happened to Florence?
~Lisa

Author's Response: Thanks -- glad you liked it. :) I'm crossing my fingers that we *do* find out something like this about Florence.
