Reviews for Making Ends Meet

Trickie Woo 2005.04.13 - 11:36PM 21: Mr Snape Signed
So, Snape was right and Rosie was wrong, I knew it. The old S.O.B. reminds me a lot of Lucius Malfoy. I'm glad Alina brought him back to Rosie.

Author's Response: Ah, you guessed right! ;-D Alina's a little bit of a saint at times, I love her! Thank goodness someone acted rationally!

Uh Oh, she's going to do it anyway. Why can't she leave well enough alone? I see big trouble ahead. In 1979 we stayed in a hotel in Queens Gate and walked around the corner to the V&A several times, it's a great museum. I was fascinated by the costume gallery most of all, but a lot of that part was closed for renovation. That was the last time I was in London until last June, although I made 4 visits to England in between those years. I learned that flying in and out of Manchester or Birmingham was so much easier than going to Heathrow. Last year I flew used Gatwick, which was also better.

Author's Response: Well, that's Rosie for you. She has a sort of naive view that you can change a truly disgusting person. Maximus might well have some redeeming qualities...I've yet to find conclusive ones...but Rosie's going to have a look for them anyway. The V&A is a great museum, and the Natural History museum is absolutely gorgeous. The best thing about all of them is that they are now free, which means that skint people like me can afford to go to them! Oh, Heathrow, it's terrible trying to get in and out of that place. Gatwick's good, indeed. Never personally been to Birmingham airport...but I've been gridlocked around the spaghetti junction before now, and it's an utter utter nightmare! Cheers!

As somebody who had a childhood similar to Snape"s, I think that Rosie should listen to him. It's much better to stay away from the people who made your life miserable. I had a confrontation with them many years later and it only made things worse. They have a good relationship now and should spend their time together learning each other's personal quirks [could they have any more?], and getting to really know each other. In spite of all the problems they've had, they really have only scratched the just below the surface so far.

Author's Response: Rosie should definitely listen to him, yes, and I am sorry to hear that you had an uneasy and difficult childhood. It probably is best to stay away from the people who made your life miserable, and I can only say that I hope you're better off without such people. *hugs* from someone who wishes they had wise words. Thanks for all your comments.

I haven't read this chapter yet, I was just looking ahead. I went to FFN and checked what Anonymous_Eccentric said. Maybe his name should be Anonymous_ Asshole. He's probably jealous because he can't write and he knows he's an asshole, that's why he's anonymous. One of the things I like best about Fanfiction is each author incarnation of Snape. I just checked my diction and there is no definition for the way I'm using incarnation, but I'm sure you take my meaning.

Author's Response: I do indeed take your meaning, and thanks for the comments on Anonymous_As...Eccentric. As long as those people out there, like yourself, continue to enjoy the story, then I suppose I shouldn't worry what one sourpuss thinks. Thanks for the encouragement!

I've just started this story today and am enjoying it. It looks like you've posted 31 chapters. I will write a review for you when I finish 31 :).

Author's Response: Hey, niklars! I hope that you enjoy the story, and that it's sufficiently good for you to get to chapter 31 ;-D Thanks for reviewing!

I didn't know you could hear the 'smell' of coffee. I like Rosie's name, since you created her it's your perogative to name her what ever you want. As for Christ, as a non-practicing Christian [Episcopalian] I say it myself quite often. That doesn't bother me, I also take God's name in vain probably even more often. I agree with Melpomene Erata on the killing curse, power not hatred is what makes it work. They are soulmates as I said before, now I hope we can get things lighter and brighter for them.

Author's Response: Did I actually write that? *hides away in shame* I'll just go off and correct that little error... Thanks for the heads up!

As I see it, it was euthanasia, a mercy killing, to spare his mother more torure and rape before the Deatheaters finally murdered her. There really is no other choice for her, they are soulmates.

Author's Response: Soulmates, indeed... Cheers, Trickie Woo!

The other two women groaned and leant back in their seats. LOL ah I love this scene! "...and, apparently, I didn’t offer my heart.” Lol typical Snape! “If you dare finish that sentence, I will leave this café,” said Rosie. “Yes – that one.” I have not been able to afford buying BC but I'm on Rosie's site on this one! “Are you all right?” he asked, genuinely concerned. Of course she is - we all are now! Good luck with the exams - I have the same thing coming up soon! ...blah! Great update! =)

Author's Response: *Hugs* Thanks, Sniv, glad you liked it! BC is brilliant, I strongly recommend trying to find a copy...it's worth every penny! AR is hilarious! And good luck in your exams as well; they really suck, don't they? Cheers, Sniv!

I did notice some 'Keeping Up Appearances' references. Any way you could get Hyacinth to appear, or maybe the ladies [including Marina] from Summer Wine in there? And like I said, her day with her friends was pure Bridget Jones.

Author's Response: Lol, I'll try! I think that Hyacinth and her band of reluctant followers might be easier to get in the story! I'll give it a go and give the old brain something to think about, you never know what might happen!

Ah, yay. He didn't flub it up this time. I like how the whole incident with Maximus has brought him closer to his sister so that he has a sounding board now. Rosie and her friends were played as the perfect group of little gossips. Love it.

Author's Response: :-D I think it's good that Severus finally has someone to talk to...it might save him a couple of mistakes in the future! Glad you liked the gossips! Cheers, phoenix!
