Reviews for Indebted to a Hufflepuff

LariLee 2004.12.04 - 05:19PM 32: Scarred Signed
Whoa! So Draco isn't completely gone? I love Snape's assertion that he is going to clear out the DEs if he has to do it alone. I wondered if her healing abilities weren't being affected by the Mark, but frankly thought she had just "given" too much of herself to Snape. She's on a roller coaster now, isn't she? I was so happy to see this updated, now I'm waiting for the next. Happiness is so fleeting. ~Lisa

Author's Response: Well, don't hold your breath for Draco. I'm afraid his days are counted. Hope you don't mind too much. But really, can you imagine holding Voldemort down while he gets treatments like Snape did?

She's recovering, but it's not entirely new to her, so she won't be out of it for too long.

Thanks for the review!

Well, I share your interpretation of Snape's Death Eater days: Predominantly potion making, some killings, but not the unredeemable rapist/monster of many fanfics. Gosh, I hope that's the right take, in future canon, as well as in the rest of this story. Don't pull a fast one now, and yank the rug out from under me. Your OC has a right to be mad, but I hope she heals so they can share some lemons sometime soon. I can't figure out what's happening with Draco yet, but you certainly have my permission to kill him! Will eagerly await your next chapter.

Author's Response: Yeah, I can't imagine anyone falling for a torturer. Don't worry, Snape is cold and conniving, and calculating, but he's no monster.

This isn't the Hufflepuff's first encounter with torture, so she'll recover faster than if it had been. I have not forgotten the lemons, we just need a couple of more chapters of action and suspense and you'll get them.

I'm afraid Draco's days are counted. But, frankly, from his point of view, it will probably be a relief.

Thanks for the review!

A very powerful and well written chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Things get a little tricky at this point.

She'll have a feel then? Good one so far and many more to go. Having a bit of the draughties myself these days but all is well. Eh, what's her name then, just noticed she hasn't.

Author's Response: Well, I was hoping you would pllace your name wherever you see a blank. I'm glad you like my thinly disguised excuse for smut. I hope you keep reading.

Author's Response: You know, I just noticed that my response here seems a bit weird. What I meant to say is that the character does not have a name or physical description on purpose because I like my readers to put themselves in the place of the main character. I suppose we usually do that anyway, but I think it makes it easier if I don't explicitly call her Susan, make her 2 meters 5, and 53 kilos, blonde with hazel eyes (I mean that would knock me way out of the ballpark).

Thanks for your review and I hope you keep reading.

I must agree with LariLee. I love Mrs. Hemmings! I hope our dear heroine recovers from the atrocities of her rape and beatings. I wonder what she thinks of Snape now? Now she truly understands what Death Eaters do to Muggle-borns. Will Snape be any comfort to her? Voldemort is going to kill him for that trick. *weeps* Not my Severus!

Author's Response: You know, now that you bring it up, it's a very good point. She'll probably be terrified of him. I'm so glad you pointed that out because now I want to add that dimension to it.

Well, Hale's going to get arrested and put away before he can tell anyone what happened, right? Voldie can punish ALL his boys because every one of them can be seen as messing up? Mrs Hemmings as a retired Auror - FABULOUS!! That sure explains a lot of her attitude; I'm just surprised she didn't take the initiative to strengthen our girl's wards, etc. I think this rescue job is going to take a lot of stress out of Mrs Hemmings - how wonderful for her to feel active and useful again. Hmm, Mrs Hemmings as WitchComm administrator and security chief...

Author's Response: Yes, well except for Lestrange and Snape, the most talented Death Eaters (along with less talented ones) are in Azkaban. Voldemort was left with the dregs.

I don't think Mrs. Hemmings would have thought to strengthn wards because, as far as she was concerned, she was working for a toy maker and then a Ministry contractor. She probably didn't see the need until Snape showed up with this problem.

I agree with you. Mrs. Hemmings' Healer is going to be astonished at her improved state of mind during her next check-up and she'll learn that "stress management" is different things to different people.

Thanks for the review!

I LOVE Mrs. Hemmings! She could almost be Snape's long-lost-mother. ;-D And not just for the snarky. I'm glad she's rescued, now, let's get Snape out of there before the New & Improved Dork Lard starts adding 2 and 2 together. (Demanding reader, aren't I?) ~Lisa

Author's Response: Yes, you are... but I love you anyway!

A dark and creepy Death Eater scene. Snape is a very good actor, bless his heart. Get her out of Voldemort's clutches in the next chapter, please?

Author's Response: She's already out! Mrs. Hemmings grabbed her and used a portkey to get her to safety. The question is how Voldemort will punish Snape for this gaffe.

Author's Response: Oh! And, as always, thanks for the review and keeping up with the story!

Hmm, I suppose Bella deserves it, and Narcissa did voluntarily join Voldie's side as did Draco. The Voldie-Draco transfer isn't reversible? Narcissa does have another son who is still good, maybe she should make a run for it and leave Draco behind. I do hope Severus finds our girl soon; would his friends help, since they're not Death Eaters? Mrs Hemmings to the rescue? We haven't seen her in action, but I would imagine she could be a formidable opponent when necessary.

Author's Response: As far as Dumbledore knows, it's not reversible. Even for a strong person like Snape it might have been permanent... for a weak person like Draco, I don't think there's any hope. The thing is that Draco DID try to go the right path, but most doors were closed to him leaving him with Voldemort as a viable direction. He never expected to have to give up his life for it.

You're good! Mrs. Hemmings with the cavalry!

Owch! And well done. It can't be easy to decide what to include and what to leave out.

Author's Response: Thanks! I tried to leave in enough to show that she's all broken up by the time they come to the rescue.
