Fascinating idea!

Author's Response: I'm glad you think so.

Loved this story! It is one of my all-time favorites. I think you write SS better than most authors because in your stories he remains so in character. I can actually believe that the SS I know from the canon would actually do/say these things. I also love the details you put in about the magical world (like the OFC's inventions in "The Intruder" and the OFC's business ventures in this one. Your plots are so rich that I would enjoy them immensely even without the lemons. I especially enjoyed the Mind Incursions scene and Sally Skeeter's scathing review. As a theatre person who's crossed paths with many pretentious, tortured, self-proclaimed "artists" I just had to laugh. One small gripe though: we know that Opalliom can "bond" a couple but what does that really mean. Earlier in the story it's implied that the OFC didn't do all of her research on the subject and that there's more to it than that. I want to know more about what exactly Opalliom is. It seemed like a bit of a loose end.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm so pleased that you liked the gadgets and business ventures!

Sally Skeeter's review took me a good WEEK to write. It was soooo hard to place myself in the shoes of a person who writes for a living!

"As a theatre person who's crossed paths with many pretentious, tortured, self-proclaimed "artists" I just had to laugh" LOL!

Well, "bonding" in the context of this story means both a physical and emotional relationship that focuses the attentions of each member on the other. So, say the couple have split up after bonding... it would be difficult, if not to say impossible, for either to engage in either a pleasurable sexual encounter with anyone else (since the most powerful erogenous zone is the mind) nor could they nurture a profound romantic love with anyone else. The "bonded" person would always intrude in their thoughts. Essentially, they're stuck. Now, I'm not the first fic-writer who has used bonding. Indeed, I've read about it elsewhere and I'm not sure I'm defining it as they meant for it to be.

However, Opalliom is mine, and so I may take the liberty to define each of its details: it is a physical manifestation of a profound spiritual association between two people who share romantic intimacy. It is (sort of) nature's invitation to "marry" two people who are both physically and temperamentally optimally suited for each other (Muggles need not apply, since it's a magical thing). I'm not really sure if I've added any more information than what you already had.

Thanks again for the great review!

Hey, that's nice. I've read a few of the completed stories on this site, and this is the first one I liked. It's much less Mary-Sue than the others, better plot and character development. My only complaint is that your OFC seemed a little older than her stated age. But good work!

Author's Response: Thanks! Well, I think the experience she had with her sister would force her to mature early (or collapse, as her sister did). Thanks for reviewing!

You have a delicious turn of phrase.

Author's Response: Did you like Mrs. Hemmings? She's a favorite with some reviewers. Thanks for reviewing!

The last line of this chapter is utterly priceless.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was just too hard to display that much anger.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying your story very much! I cant praise it enough, well written, entertaining, good pacing, original....(I loved the porcelain dolls bit!) I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest ;-) Kristina

Okay, now that I've had time to digest it all and let my brain really process what I read, I've got some better comments for you. :-) You did a great job creating two new magical manifestations, sometimes people create magical powers that just don't sit right or don't seem plausible. You did a great job with both. I really liked how the verisanitas helped Severus (I laughed when she was purging the darkness from him, how could I not), but even better was how that when she took the darkness within, it negated her abilities...From a character standpoint, she was well written. I think you captured the transition from teen to adult quite well, as that is a tumultuous time a persons life, and especially for her given her past...The Opalliom was a great touch. It was definitely in character that Severus would run from something like that with the complexities of his life. And I love how he made it an obsession. The scene with the stone where he realizes that she's deliberately keeping it from him, was perfect. I loved his comment about taking her around the world. And of course great job building up to the end with him still trying to fulfill his role as a double agent and finding a creative way to rescue her....Now, I think that does your story a bit more justice. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! What a great review! Just looooved reading all that nice stuff about her and the story! It certainly is a good picker-upper while we wait for the next book!

Very nicely done. It was a very compelling story. I like how you didn't make it too easy for anyone and showed the long hard journey. Sadly, I don't think I can do your 34 chapters justice in a few words. I especially loved the perceived jealousy with Draco.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I've always imagined that nothing is easy or short with Snape ;)
Thanks for reviewing!

Are you sure you can't cobble together an epilogue?? You can just send it to people who bribe you with chocolate....

Author's Response: Chocolate, eh? That definately has interesting possibilities. Do you have any ideas about what you'd like to see? I can't think of anything.

Oh, by the way, in a slightly more coherent manner, I really liked how you introduced your own elements [Opalliom, the healing-sight-thing whose name I've forgotten] into the Potter-verse and yet had them seem believable. And well enough explained that you don't have to worry about 'Did I get that right?' without coming off as lecturing. And you have some of the most innovative and original sex scenes I've read in awhile, which is saying something because I have this guilty addiction for PWPs. Anyhow, good job.

Author's Response: "I have this guilty addiction for PWPs" LOL! Don't worry, YOU'RE NOT ALONE! thanks for the great reviews!
